Barinder Kumar Goyal Hands Over Appointment Letters to 21 Newly Appointed Candidates of the Department of Land and Water Conservation

Chandigarh, January 25 :

          The Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, is continuously striving to provide employment opportunities to the youth of the state. In line with this effort, Barinder Kumar Goyal, the Minister for Land and Water Conservation, today handed over appointment letters to 21 newly appointed candidates. Among these candidates, 19 were appointed as Agricultural Sub-Inspectors, 1 as Junior Draftsman, and 1 as Peon.

          While handing over the appointment letters to the newly appointed candidates at Punjab Bhawan today, Barinder Kumar Goyal congratulated them and encouraged them to work with full dedication and sincerity. He also mentioned that the appointments made by the state Government were done with full transparency, ensuring that all jobs were awarded to deserving candidates based on merit. The Cabinet Minister further stated that the vision of the Government is to provide employment opportunities to the youth in Punjab so that their skills contribute to the state’s development.

          The Cabinet Minister emphasized that the government has transformed the mindset of the people. He mentioned that the previous governments had eroded people’s trust, as Government jobs were only available through recommendations. However, under the leadership of S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the present Government has changed this narrative. People now know that only qualified and deserving candidates are appointed based on merit, which has enabled young people from ordinary families in the state to get jobs. He further pointed out that previously, due to lack of employment opportunities in Punjab, the youth had to go abroad, but now, with the jobs provided by the Punjab Government, they are returning to the state.

          He also mentioned that among the newly appointed candidates, two individuals had worked in Canada and had returned to Punjab to receive their appointment letters for the Agricultural Sub-Inspector position.

          Cabinet Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal further stated that the present Government is the first in the country to provide employment to over 50,000 youth from ordinary families in Punjab during its tenure.

          He urged the newly appointed candidates to understand that positions like Agricultural Sub-Inspector and Draftsman are the backbone of this department. He encouraged them to work diligently to implement Government schemes related to land and water conservation and to create awareness among farmers about these schemes. He also directed officials to organize awareness camps across the state to educate farmers about these schemes.

          Additional Chief Secretary (Agriculture), Shri Anurag Verma, also congratulated the newly appointed employees and stressed the importance of water resource management. He urged the newly recruited employees to contribute their full potential in the mission of water conservation throughout the state.

          The Chief Land Officer, Mahinder Pal Saini, welcomed the new recruits to the department and urged them to carry out their duties with full responsibility and dedication.

Workshop Organized on Improvement of Accident Black Spots and Impact on Road Accidents and Fatalities

Chandigarh, January 25 

          Today lead Agency on Road Safety, Punjab state road safety council and National Highway Authority of India organized a one-day workshop on the topic “Improvement of Black Spots and Their Impact on Road Accidents and Fatalities” to reduce road accidents and fatalities. 

          The workshop was held at the Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration, Sector 26, Chandigarh, in connection with the National Road Safety Month 2025. The focus was on improving accident-prone black spots and assessing their impact on road accidents and fatalities. The workshop was conducted under the leadership of the Lead Agency, Punjab State Road Safety Council, in collaboration with the Transport Department, Punjab, and other stakeholders, including the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), PWD (B&R), Local Government Department, Punjab Mandi Board, and Punjab Traffic Police. 

          Additional Chief Secretary of Transport, Mr. D.K. Tiwari, stated that under the able leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and the guidance of Transport Minister S. Laljit Singh Bhullar, special efforts will be made regarding road safety. He emphasized that the primary objective of the workshop is to discuss and address critical issues related to road safety. These deliberations will play a crucial role in shaping future strategies to enhance road safety standards and reduce road hazards. He also commended the role of the Road Safety Force and encouraged officials from various departments to adopt well-coordinated measures to minimize road accidents, especially during foggy weather conditions, and to discourage underage driving. 

          Director General of the Lead Agency for Road Safety, Mr. R. Venkata Ratnam, pointed out that the number of fatalities due to road accidents in the state is alarmingly high, with 14 deaths occurring daily. He urged road-related agencies, including NHAI, PWD, Punjab Mandi Board, and the Local Government Department, to put in more efforts to rectify black spots on roads and properly evaluate their impact to reduce fatalities. He also directed police and transport department officials to strictly enforce traffic rules to prevent accidents and save lives. Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of accurately documenting road accident data to facilitate better planning and ensure optimal utilization of government funds allocated for accident prevention. 

          Additional Director General of Police (Traffic), Mr. A.S. Rai, highlighted the performance of the Road Safety Force and stated that due to the effective operations of the force over the past 11 months, there has been a significant decline in road accidents and fatalities in Punjab, which is a testament to the efforts of the current Punjab government. 

          State Transport Commissioner Mr. Jaspreet Singh provided insights into various initiatives for road safety, such as special awareness campaigns for school and college students, the importance of wearing seat belts, scrapping of old vehicles, electronic surveillance-based challans in major cities, third-party insurance and pollution certificate checks, educating students on traffic rules through traffic parks, and simplifying the online learning license process. 

          Mr. Vipnesh Sharma, Regional Officer of NHAI, provided insights into road safety initiatives and shared details about efforts undertaken by the department to rectify black spots to reduce road accidents and save lives. 

          The workshop witnessed participation from senior officials of the Punjab Government and various associated agencies, along with key stakeholders. Experts elaborated on various safety measures and future action plans to reduce road accidents, improve road infrastructure, and raise public awareness.

Government took revolutionary decisions for welfare of youth, women & farmers in first 100 days: Mahipal Dhanda

Chandigarh, January 25

Haryana Education Minister Sh. Mahipal Dhanda, in a statement issued on the completion of 100 days of the Haryana Government, said by giving jobs to 24,000 youths of the state without ‘kharchi-parchi’, the Nayab Singh Saini government has made a special place in hearts of the youth. More jobs will be given and employment fairs are being organized to make the youth self-reliant.

Ensuring welfare of women

The Education Minister said the government is leaving no stone unturned to promote welfare of women. Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi recently launched the Bima Sakhi Yojana from Panipat. Under this scheme, women will be given a monthly salary of Rs 7000 in the first year, Rs 6000 in the second year and Rs 5000 in the third year. Along with this, commission and incentive amount of Rs 2100 will also be given every month. This is a revolutionary step for making women self-reliant.

Farmers are becoming self-reliant

Sh. Mahipal Dhanda said the Nayab Singh Saini government has taken revolutionary decisions in the interest of farmers. The government made three laws in the interest of farmers in the first Assembly session itself. The government also took steps to reduce the financial burden on farmers due to less rainfall and put money in the accounts of farmers at the rate of Rs 2000 per acre for sowing of Kharif crops. The government also made a compensation policy for high tension power lines passing through the farmers’ fields. There are many such schemes, including Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana and Crop Insurance Scheme, which have been implemented in Haryana and farmers are getting direct benefit from this.

Benefit to every section of society

The minister said the BJP government formed with majority for the second time in the state worked for every section. The monthly pension of ‘matrabhasha satyagrahis’ was increased from Rs 15000 to Rs 20000. Along with this, the honorarium of Anganwadi workers was increased by Rs 750 and the honorarium of assistants was increased by Rs 400 per month. Maharana Pratap Horticulture University is also being built in Uchani, Karnal for which Rs 700 crore will be spent. Another achievement that the government has achieved is that Haryana has reached the top among the big states with an increase of 28 percent in GST collection, the minister added.

Baba Saheb gave us a Constitution that shows way forward in every situation: Gaurav Gautam

While administering the oath on the Preamble of the Constitution, Haryana’s Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Minister Sh. Gaurav Gautam said our Constitution is our self-respect.

Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar has given us a Constitution that shows us the way forward in every situation. Our Constitution is not just a book, the soul of India resides in it. While addressing the ‘Hamara Samvidhaan, Hamara Swabhiman’ program in Palwal on Saturday, he discussed the Constitution and the Preamble of the Constitution in detail. He said the Constitution decides how the country will run and on which path it will move.

Sh. Gaurav Gautam said other people of the world also come to us to study how such a big democratic country like India is moving on the path shown by the Constitution. The Constitution is the protector of democracy which is the foundation of the country and society. Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi has organized these programs to spread the ideals of the Constitution among the youth in every corner of the country, so that they can get information about it, the minister added. 

During the program, the minister also rewarded the winners of school and block level competitions organized on National Voters’ Day on the theme of ‘Hamara Samvidhaan, Hamara Swabhiman’.

9 Haryana Police officers to be awarded on Republic Day

On the occasion of Republic Day, one Haryana Police officer will be awarded the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and eight other policemen will be awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service.

Expressing happiness over this important achievement of the officers and jawans, Haryana Director General of Police Sh. Shatrujeet Kapoor said the recognition received at the national level for the tireless and continuous efforts of the officers and employees of the Haryana Police is a matter of pride for the entire police force.

Giving information, a spokesperson of Haryana Police said Additional Director General of Police Saurabh Singh, Head of Haryana Intelligence Department, will be awarded the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service.

Agriculture Minister lays foundation stone of Rs 87.72-lakh development works in Radaur

Chandigarh, January 25:

Haryana’s Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Sh. Shyam Singh Rana paid a gratitude visit to Panjeto Ka Majra, Peer Majra, Ramnagar/Arya Nagar, Bank Colony, Sudhal and Kansapur areas of Radaur Municipal Corporation and listened to the problems of the people and directed the officials to resolve them.

Sh. Rana laid the foundation stone for development works worth Rs. 87.72 lakh in the Municipal Corporation area of Radaur Assembly constituency, which includes development works worth Rs. 18.71 lakh for kitchen and toilet in Peer Majra, Rs. 21.50 lakh for construction of lanes and water drainage pipeline in Panjeto Ka Majra, and Rs. 47.51 lakh for construction of 3 lanes in Ramnagar/Aryanagar. He said today, on the completion of 75 years of formation of the Constitution of India, the Samvidhan Gaurav Diwas was celebrated. He congratulated all the residents of the district on Republic Day. He said more than 100 buildings were constructed in the name of Baba Ambedkar in Radaur Assembly constituency.

On the request of the Sarpanches, Sh. Rana assured to construct a library and sports stadium in the villages.

Citizens must follow the path shown by makers of Constitution: Dr. Arvind Sharma

Haryana’s Jail and Tourism Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma, while addressing the programme in Jhajjar under the ‘Hamara Samvidhaan, Hamara Swabhiman’ campaign, said these events are being organized across the country with the aim of making today’s generation aware of the Constitution and inspiring them towards its values. These programmes are instilling patriotism and faith in the countrymen and making them aware of their rights and duties.

Speaking as the chief guest through videoconferencing, the minister said the more dedication the citizens have towards the values of the Constitution, the faster the country will progress. He said Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi has also explained the importance of the Constitution to the countrymen in the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme and appealed to participate in the development and progress of the country by following the path shown by the Constitution makers.

Dr Arvind Sharma said today is also National Tourism Day and the department will organize the 38th Surajkund Fair from February 7 to February 23 where the cultural ethos of Haryana will be seen. This time, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh will participate as partner states. He said along with the culture of the country, tourists will get an opportunity to get acquainted with the culture of other countries as well, including the partner states. He appealed to the people of the state to attend the fair in maximum numbers. DC Pradeep Dahiya and other officials were present in the programme.

Ranbir Gangwa lays foundation stone of community centre in Barwala

Chandigarh, January 25

Haryana’s Public Works and Public Health Engineering Minister Sh. Ranbir Gangwa on Saturday laid the foundation stone of a community centre, to be built at a cost of around Rs 3.5 crore in Barwala town of Hisar district.

Sh. Gangwa said work is being done to resolve the problems of Barwala. He said the state government is focused on development. He said the main problem of Barwala is unapproved areas, but these problems will be resolved soon.

Referring to 100 days of the government, he said from the very first day, the government started working for every section, whether it is about providing employment to the youth or other schemes. The resolutions made by the government during the elections are being fulfilled one by one and this BJP government will work to fulfill all the resolutions in the future. Cabinet Minister Sh. Ranbir Gangwa said there will be no shortage of development works in the Assembly constituency of Barwala.

CM Nayab Singh Saini celebrates his birthday with Swachhata Nayaks

Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini celebrated his birthday with Swachhata Nayaks today at the Chief Minister’s residence Sant Kabir Kutir with great simplicity.

On this occasion, the Swachhata Nayaks presented a memento to the Chief Minister, congratulated and wished him a long life. The Chief Minister presented shawls to the Swachhata Nayaks and also had breakfast with them.

The Chief Minister said Swachhata Nayaks are the sentinels of cleanliness and without their cooperation, the goal of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Mission cannot be achieved. He said Swachhata Nayaks work hard in the true sense and give the message of cleanliness to people. The Haryana Government has also constituted the Haryana Rajya Safai Karamchari Aayog for the interests of Swachhata Nayaks, which from time to time brings to the notice of the government the issues and interests of employees and welfare decisions for their children.

After this, the Chief Minister reached the Government Rehabilitation Institute for Intellectual Disability (GRIID) located in Sector-31, Chandigarh and celebrated his birthday with the children of the institute. The Chief Minister also observed the work being done by the children of the institute and appreciated them. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also distributed gifts to the children.
