Panjab University Improves its Scoring in NIRF Ranking 2022

There has been a consistent increase in its march towards excellence by enhancing its overall score to 52.80, a significant improvement of 1.21 over its 2021 score

It has also been ranked among the top 25 universities since inception of NIRF Ranking.

It is also amongst the coveted institution of excellence in Pharmaceutical Sciences, having been consistently ranked among the top 3.

PU administration is making earnest efforts to enhance its rankings. Special efforts are being made to capture the data from the faculty regarding their research output and extension activities. Placement also is the focus of the authorities.

It is noted that a mere increase of 0.27 could have improved its rankings to 21

PGIMER ranks 2nd Best Institute in NIRF Ranking 2022

PGIMER, Chandigarh has been ranked Second Best Medical Institute in the NIRF Rankings-2022 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt of India. Hon’ble Union Minister of Education, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, announced NIRF India Rankings 2022 through a webcast from NIRF website today, in which, PGIMER, Chandigarh competed amongst premier  Institutes throughout the country under the Medical category. AIIMS, New Delhi has been ranked first in this category whereas CMC, Vellore has been ranked third.

The NIRF  ranking of Institutes is calculated on the basis of five broad generic groups of parameters, namely: Teaching, Learning and Resources (TLR), Research and Professional Practice (RP), Graduation Outcomes (GO), Outreach and Inclusivity (OI) and Perception (PR).  

With this year’s ranking, the Institute has retained the same position in the NIRF ranking for the  last five  years in a row from 2018 to 2022.  This position has been attained by the combined team efforts of all the faculty and staff of the Institute under the leadership of the Prof. Vivek Lal, Director, PGIMER, Chandigarh. 

Prof. Vivek Lal congratulated each member of the PGIMER family for continuous support and efforts in achieving this feat. He also thanked Hon’ble Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare and President of the Institute, Shri Mansukh Mandaviya and  Hon’ble   Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi for extending wholehearted support and inspiration.
