Labour registration camp at Village Tarapur Majri to be set up soon : Anmol Gagan Maan

 Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Investment Promotion, Labor and Grievance Redressal Cabinet Minister Anmol Gagan Mann attended 10th Vishal Kushti Competition program organized by Gram Panchayat and Chhinj Committee at village Tarapur Majri of SAS Nagar on Thursday. On reaching here, the Cabinet Minister was warmly welcomed by the Gram Panjayat and Chhinj Committee.

 On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Anmol Gagan, while addressing a large gathering, said that the state government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is continuously striving for the holistic development of people under all the classes.  She said that state government has taken many decisions in interest of public to make Punjab a leading state in the field of sports and to keep the youth away from drugs.  Ms Anmol Gagan emphasized that Punjab government is working on zero tolerance against corruption and strict steps have been taken by the government against the corrupt.

  The cabinet minister said that labor cards will be made by setting up a camp at village Tarapur Majri so that the benefits of various schemes of the government under the labor department can reach the needy. She told that 6 bridges have been approved by the government for Kharar constituency, the construction of which will be started soon.

               Apart from this, Cabinet minister was also informed about other problems by the villagers, after hearing which the cabinet minister assured to solve all the problems soon.  After this, she also paid obeisance at Lalanwala Pir Dargah, a religious place at village Tarapur Majri and received blessings.

BAFFLED BY THEIR CRUSHING DEFEAT, CONGRESS LEADERS USING DEFAMATION AS TOOL AGAINST THOSE WORKING FOR PUBLIC WELFARE: SAYS CM

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today said that baffled by their crushing defeat in the state assembly polls, held early this year, Congress leaders are now using the defamation as a tool against those working tirelessly for public welfare and progress of state. Interacting with the media here after appearing before a local court, the Chief Minister said that the leaders who had themselves betrayed the mandate of people by becoming turncoats for their vested personal interests are now filing defamation cases against us. He said that in reality these people are varying of the growing popularity of the state government in wake of its pro-people decision. Bhagwant Mann said these cases are being filed as a grudge against thumping verdict in favour of his party, which is working tirelessly for the well being of people. The Chief Minister said that such cases will not deter him for taking several decisions for the well being of Punjab and its people. Bhagwant Mann said that he is ready to face any such cases for the sake of Punjab. He said that it is ironic that those people who have ruined the country for long are now using defamation as a tool against those who are working for well being of people. The Chief Minister questioned that why defamation cases are not filed against those who have looted the country for several decades. Similarly, he said that why such cases are not being filed against those people who label true patriots as terrorists. Bhagwant Mann said that how those leaders who are working tirelessly for transforming the lives of people by mitigating the sufferings of people can be terrorists adding that unfortunately no defamation takes place against miscreants indulging in such mudslinging.   The Chief Minister said that he will appear before court whenever summons is issued against him. Bhagwant Mann said that he has full faith in the judicial system of the country. He said that the courts are highly respectable and they will adhere to every decision of the court. Slamming the Congress party, the Chief Minister said that these leaders have mercilessly plundered the wealth of the state. He said that after looting the public wealth now these leaders are joining the BJP in hope of safe haven, from clutches of law, for their misdeeds. However, he said that the people of state will never forgive these leaders for their sins.

BAINS HANDS OVER JOB LETTERS TO 27 CANDIDATES ON COMPASSIONATE GROUND IN EDUCATION DEPT

Following the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to clear all job cases on compassionate ground, Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains today handed over appointment letters to 27 such candidates. Congratulating the newly appointed employees, the Education Minister urged them to work deligently with utmost dedication and honesty. He said that education is very important to build a strong nation and bright future. Education is the wisest way to serve the society.  He urged the newly appointed employees to make honesty an integral part of their lives.Bains said that all of you have lost your dear ones and by getting a government job in their place you have huge responsibility to serve the people with the same dedication.  He said that we all have to work together as a family to take the school education department to new heights. On this occasion, one candidate received appointment letter as Math Mistress, 6 as Clerk, 3 as S.L.A. , 12 as Peon , 4 as Chowkidar and 1 as Cleaning Worker. DPI Kuljit Singh Mahi and other officials of School Education Department were also present on this occasion.

Punjab Health Department on Its Toes to Ward Off Dengue, says Chetan Singh Jauramajra

As some sections of the media reported yesterday regarding the uptick in a number of cases of dengue in Punjab, Health and Family Welfare Minister Punjab Chetan Singh Jauramajra on Tuesday apprised that the dengue situation is completely under control in Punjab and there is no need to panic about it.

He said that as the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab Government is committed to ensuring the wellbeing of residents, the Health Department has been working round the clock to contain the spread of dengue.

Talking about the activities being undertaken Mr. Jauramajra stated that the Health Department is carrying out several anti-dengue drives right from the start of the summer season. It is pertinent to mention that dengue is a vector-borne disease that is caused by the bite of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito.

“In the month of September alone, teams of the department have visited more than 3 Lakh houses to check larvae breeding and mosquito larvae have been found and destroyed in as many as 5871 houses,” he informed.

To keep vigil at the breeding of mosquito larvae health department has deputed at least 855 breeding checkers across Punjab, besides, larvicide and insecticide spray is  being done across the state. The department is also using a biological method to control mosquito breeding as Gambusia fish is released in ponds of villages, which feeds upon the mosquito larvae and helps in controlling their breeding, he added.

Sharing more details about the department’s anti-dengue activities Mr. Jauramajra stated that dengue awareness camps are also being organized across the state, and inter-sectoral meetings involving various stakeholders such as the Local Body Department, Rural Development Department, Education, etc. are also being held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioners to monitor and review the ground situation.

Mr. Jauramajra appealed to the general public to follow the precautions being disseminated by the Health department. As stagnant water is the potential breeding ground for mosquitoes, he also urged people to keep checking their surroundings and ensure that there should not be any stagnant water collection (water containers, tyres , coolers) inside or near their houses. which can be a potential breeding ground for mosquitoes.

Meanwhile, dengue is a notifiable disease and the Punjab government has also capped the price of its test to Rs 600/-. Punjab government has 42 labs for dengue testing and 1274 beds have specifically been marked for dengue patients in government hospitals in the shape of Dengue Wards.

PUNJAB CHIEF SECRETARY ASKS RBI TO PREPARE AND SHARE WHITELIST OF LEGAL APPS OFFERING LOANS

Punjab Chief Secretary Vijay Kumar Janjua has chaired the 18th meeting of the State Level Coordination Committee (SLCC) on Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) and Unincorporated Bodies (UIBs). The meeting was convened by MK Mall, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Chandigarh.

            During the meeting, regulatory and policy initiatives taken by RBI, awareness programmes on protection of interest of investors/depositors and similar other issues were discussed. The Chief Secretary impressed upon greater usage of the banning of unregulated deposit schemes act, 2019 by giving wide publicity so that all the citizens in Punjab be made aware about said act and instructed the law enforcement agencies to comply with the provisions of this act as it is a comprehensive mechanism to curb the unregulated deposit schemes to protect the interest of depositors. 

            Further, while discussing recommendations of the working group on digital lending, Chief Secretary expressed concern on increasing instances of illegal loan apps offering loans to vulnerable group of people. On this issue, Regional Director, RBI apprised about the meeting held under the Chairpersonship of Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs wherein RBI has been asked to prepare a “Whitelist” of all the legal Apps and MeitY will ensure that only these “Whitelist” Apps are hosted on app stores. The Chief Secretary asked RBI to prepare and share Whitelist of such legal Apps at the earliest, so that the same may also be given wide coverage in order to protect the general public from falling prey to any illegal loan apps.

            Regional Director, RBI emphasised on the need for better co-ordination between the regulators and law enforcement agencies to prevent unscrupulous entities from duping the general public of their hard-earned money. He also apprised the forum about the usefulness of the ‘Sachet portal’ of RBI which facilitates lodging of complaints by general public as also the sharing of any relevant information by members of public and is intended to help in addressing the problem of unauthorised collection of deposits more effectively.

            Smt. Garima Singh, Secretary Finance & Director Institutional Finance and Banking, Punjab, Sarabjit Singh, Additional Inspector General of Police and senior officers from RBI, SEBI, ROC, ICAI etc. also participated in the meeting.

Chetan Singh Jauramajra launches eye donation campaign by pledging to donate his eyes

With an attempt  to boost the eye donation movement in the state  health minister Punjab Chetan Singh Jauramajra took the  initiative by pledging to donate his own eyes.   He said that the  campaign should become people’s movement.

On the occasion of 37th National Eye Donation Fortnight, Chetan Singh Jauramajra while presiding over a state level event at Government Dental College Auditorium Patiala asked the public to come forward voluntarily to contribute towards the awareness campaign launched by the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led Punjab government to become an eye donor. On this occasion, Patiala Rural MLA Dr.  Balbir Singh and Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni were also present.

Chetan Singh Jauramajra, who also holds Medical Education and Research and Elections, said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann would not allow state government hospitals to become referral hospitals only. It is the first priority of the Chief Minister that Punjab becomes the number one state in the country in the health sector. To fulfill this promise, many milestones have been being achieved to provide better health services to the public, he added.

The minister informed that the previous charisma of Government Rajindra Hospital and Mata Kaushalya Hospital would be restored and patients be treated on the lines of PGI by providing state-of-the-art facilities and best doctors in these hospitals.

He further added that in the near future state hospitals in Punjab wot provide medical packages at competitive rates to attract foreign nationals for treatment, which in turn would promote medical tourism and this could be a good source of revenue.

On the occasion three patients namely Gulzar Kaur of village Duladi, Seema Rani of Patran and Tejo Devi from Cheeka were also present who regained their eyesight after undergoing free corneal transplants at Rajindra Hospital after the resumption of eye pupil replacement operations after a gap of nearly 10 years. While sharing their experiences, these patients have expressed special gratitude to the Punjab Chief Minister and the Health Minister and stated that that it was the health model of Bhagwant Mann’s government which has come as a saviour for them.

Elaborating the health facilities in the state Chetan Singh Jauramajra said it was the first priority of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann that Punjab became a number one state in the country in the health sector, therefore 16 new medical colleges would be set-up to provide affordable medical education to our students.

He also appealed to the doctors of the government hospitals of the state to cooperate with the government and work as a team to provide better health services to the patients with full diligence.

Earlier MLA Dr.  Balbir Singh congratulated on teacher’s day and said that once Patiala was a center for Keratoplasty (Replacement of eye pupils) but the previous governments never paid attention to it. He assured that the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is paying full attention to health services.

Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni assured the district administration would make special efforts to disseminate the message of voluntary eye donation to the common people so that the patients who have lost their sight due to any reason could get eyesight back.

Earlier to this, Civil Surgeon Dr. Raju Dhir formally welcomed the Health Minister. Director Health and Family Welfare Department Dr.  Ranjit Singh Ghotra informed about the activities being carried out to make Patiala a cataract free district by 2024. The state program officer Dr. Neeti Singla and Dr. Jitendra Kansal asked people to stay away from superstitions regarding eye donation.  Principal Dental College Dr. G.S. Maan thanked all the participants to make the function a memorable event.

On this occasion, the Health Minister also honored the Block Extension Educators (BEE) of the state, including Narinderpal Singh from Sangrur, Gautam Rishi from Barnala, Divesh Kumar from Fazilka, Ritu Mehta from Roopnagar and  Sarabjit Singh from Patiala besides eye specialist doctors of Patiala district.

On the occasion Assistant Commissioner (UT) Dr. Akshita Gupta, SDM Dr. Ismat Vijay Singh, District Urban President of AAP Tejinder Mehta, Rural President Megh Chand Shermajra, Event Incharge Angrej Singh, Director Principal Medical College Dr. Harjinder Singh, Medical Superintendent. Youth should focus on sports & Stomp out drugs from state :Anmol Gagan Maan

Cabinet Minister Ms. Anmol Gagan Mann encouraged the wrestlers to take part in the sport by reaching out to the wrestlers in the wrestling competitions organized at villages Togan and Majri of Halka Kharar of District SAS Nagar.  These wrestling competitions were organized at Jai Baba Guga Maidi Jaharveer Managing Committee Reg.Village Toga and Majri with the support of all the residents.  Renowned wrestlers from other states including Punjab participated in wrestling competitions.  On reaching at the venue , the cabinet minister was warmly welcomed by the residents and the youth present there.  After this, Ms. Anmol Gagan Mann inaugurated the competition by making the wrestlers join hands.

Addressing the public, the Cabinet Minister congratulated the organizers for organizing such sports competition for the residents of the constituency.  She said that the demand of the residents to install tubewell at Taugan village will be fulfilled soon.  She said that approval will be received from the government soon to build five bridges in the constituency.  

On this occasion, She appealed to the youth to give more attention to wrestling and other sports, shun away from drugs, and to shine the name of their parents, region and country by becoming good sportsmen.  The cabinet minister said that wrestling is a priceless heritage of Punjab which keep the body healthy.

CABINET LED BY CM APPROVES POLICY TO REGULARISE SERVICES OF ADHOC, CONTRACTUAL, TEMPORARY TEACHER AND OTHER EMPLOYEES OF EDUCATION DEPARTMENT

In a major employee friendly decision, the Punjab Cabinet led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday approved a policy for regularising services of Adhoc, Contractual, and Temporary Teachers thereby benefitting more than 9000 employees of the state government.

A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of Council of Ministers chaired by the Chief Minister here at the Punjab Civil Secretariat- I.

Disclosing this here today, a spokesman of the Chief Minister’s Office said that previously various appointments to ‘Group C’ and ‘Group D’ level posts in government had been made on contract/temporary basis. Some of such employees have now put in a period of more than 10 years and had given their prime years of life in service of the state. The Cabinet opined that now at this stage, to relieve these employees will be unjustified and improper.

Thus, being a Welfare State and to protect the interest of these contractual temporary employees, state government has formulated a Policy for welfare of Adhoc, Contractual, and temporary teachers and other employees in Education Department under Article 162 read with entry 41 of list-II of the Seventh Schedule of Constitution of India, to ensure that such employees do not suffer from uncertainty and harassment and to grant them a security of tenure. The state government has taken a policy decision to continue such desirous suitable Teachers, who fulfill the eligibility conditions, in service till the age of 58 years by placing them in a special cadre. This policy, which will benefit more than 9000 employees, has been framed only in relation to Group C & Group D posts of Education department, Punjab.

For regularization of services an employee should have worked on adhoc, contractual, or temporary basis for a continuous period of minimum ten years till the issuance of present policy and must have possessed the requisite qualifications and experience for the post in terms of rules, if any, at the time of placement in the Special Cadre. The work and conduct of the applicant must have remained satisfactory as per the assessment of the department/employer during the period of 10 years service.

However, the policy will not be applicable to a person who has been engaged in an honorary capacity or on a part time basis or had attained the age of superannuation or had resigned on his own or had not been retained by the Department or had been engaged on outsourced basis or is on an incentive based engagement or does not possess the requisite qualifications and experience for the post prescribed under the service rules, if any, at the time of placement in the Special Cadre or had been engaged or continues in service on account of any interim order(s), direction(s) of any Court or Tribunal; or had been convicted of any offence involving moral turpitude or charges have been framed against him in a Court of Law relating to such offence.

For the purpose of grant of continuation to these employees they will be placed on a post, which shall not be a cadre post, by creating special cadre of posts. The process of placement of beneficiary employee will commence after submission of the Application Form, accompanied by all required documents, by him.  The beneficiary employees, who are being placed in special cadre posts and will be allowed to continue in service till the age of 58 years. They will be treated as a fresh appointee.

Cabinet Minister Ms. Anmol Gagan Mann today declared that five new bridges will soon be approved for Kharar constituency. She was speaking at the inauguration of a wrestling competition  organized at villages Togan and Majri of Halka Kharar of District SAS Nagar.She said that approval will be received from the government soon to build five bridges in the constituency.

CM ORDERS PROBE INTO DESECRATION AND FIRE INCIDENT IN CHURCH AT TARN TARAN

IEP CHANDIGARH AUGUST 31, 2022

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday ordered a probe into the desecration and fire incident in a church at village Thakarpura in Tarn Taran district.

“This is a highly condemnable incident and severest of severe action must be taken against the perpetrators of this heinous crime” said the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister said that he has directed the Director General of Police (DGP) to minutely probe into this unpardonable incident. He said that this incident is a handiwork of the forces inimical to the peace, prosperity and progress of the state. Bhagwant Mann said that this unfortunate tragedy is aimed at vitiating the peaceful atmosphere of the state and derailing communal harmony and brotherhood in Punjab. 

However, the Chief Minister said that the state government will not allow any such nefarious attempt to succeed. He further said that the state government will foil all such conspiracies and take strict punitive action against culprits so that it acts as a deterrent for others in future. Bhagwant Mann asserted that the state government is committed to preserving the hard earned peace of the state and no one will be allowed to disturb it at any cost.

Condemning the incident, the Chief Minister unequivocally said that the government will leave no stone unturned to put the perpetrators of this heinous crime behind the bars. Bhagwant Mann said that he has already issued directions to Police for thorough investigation of the case in a prompt and result oriented manner. He categorically said that the state government is committed to making Punjab a peaceful and frontrunner state in the country adding that no stone will be left unturned for this noble cause.
