Chandigarh, March 5
Haryana Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister, Sh. Rajesh Nagar, held a review meeting today with senior department officers. During the meeting, he discussed several important issues and directed officers to ensure the timely distribution of ration and mustard oil. He also directed to accelerate the work of installing CCTV cameras at ration depots.
The Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister directed the officers to expedite the process of allotting new ration depots. He said that tenders have been initiated to install new PoS machines at ration depots through public sector undertakings. The meeting also discussed the resumption of fortified wheat flour distribution under the public distribution system (PDS), which would help address complaints about the supply of damp grain.
In the meeting it was also considered to reintroduce the ‘Potli Scheme’, which involves distributing all essential commodities under the PDS in a single ‘Potli’ to the beneficiaries.
Additional Chief Secretary, Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Sh. Anand Mohan Sharan and Director, Sh. Rajesh Jogpal along with other senior officers also remained present during the meeting.
