At the 68th National Film Awards distribution ceremony, Sh. Mandeep Singh Chauhan, a resident of Karnal, was honoured with the Rajat Kamal Award by the President, Smt. Droupadi Murmu for the documentary film produced by him.
Producer, Sh. Mandeep Singh Chauhan received this honour for his short film ‘Justice Delayed but delivered’. The film was selected as the best film at the National Level in the non-feature film category. Along with Sh. Mandeep Singh Chauhan, the director of the film, Kamakhya Narayan Singh, a resident of Mumbai, was also honoured by the President.
Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal has congratulated Sh. Mandeep Singh for this remarkable achievement. He said that such documentary films serve to give direction to society.
Notably, the National Film Awards for 2020 were announced recently by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the awards were distributed today in a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. In the same ceremony, the country’s best film industry award Dadasaheb Phalke Award was presented to eminent actress Asha Parekh.
Sh. Mandeep Singh Chauhan, who received the National Film Award, originally belongs to Gondar village of the Karnal district. His elder brother Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan is the Vice President and Director of Haryana Granth Akademi. Sh. Mandeep Singh Chauhan has been associated with many regional and national news channels.
