The Vice Chancellor of the Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, Prof. B. R. Kamboj reviewed the preparation for the two-day Krishi Mela (Kharif) starting from September 13, 2022. He informed that this time the main theme of Krishi Mela will be water conservation in agriculture.
Director of Extension Education, Dr. Balwan Singh Mandal informed that progressive farmers of the state will also be honoured in the Krishi Mela. In order to resolve all the issues related to farming special farmers’ seminars will be organized in which the scientists of the university will take up the queries and provide relevant solutions to the problems related to agriculture and animal husbandry. Along with this, they will provide crops, seeds, varieties and all other useful information. The visiting farmers will be provided information about the Kharif crops grown by the scientists at the research farm of the university and the technology used in them. Apart from this, agricultural and agro-industrial exhibitions will also be organized in the fair, so that farmers will be able to get information about modern agricultural implements and techniques. In this exhibition there will be a pavilion ‘Swawlambi India – Self-reliant Farmer’ in which farmers who started their business after taking training from Haryana Agricultural University will showcase their products.
He also informed that the wheat’s varieties like W. H.-1270, 1105, 711, 1124, 1142 and 1184 along with HD-2967, 3086, 3226, DBW- 222 and 303 varieties, Mustard’s RH-725, 30 and 749 varieties, Barley’s B.H.-393 variety, Gram’s HC-1, 5 and 7 varieties base (foundation) and certified seed will be available. For the purchase of seeds, farmers must bring their Aadhaar card with them.
