Ambala-Shamli Green Field Highway

Haryana Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal directed the officers to disburse the pending payment to the land owners at the earliest to acquire land for the construction Ambala-Shamli highway. He also directed to expedite the remaining portion of the land acquisition process before sowing of Rabi crops for the construction of the highway.While chairing a videoconference regarding 6-lane access controlled Ambala-Shamli Green Filed Highway with Deputy Commissioners and District Forest officers of the concerned districts here today, he said that construction of approximately 121 Km Ambala-Shamli highway is the part of Ludhiana-Bareilly Corridor passing through adjoining areas of Karnal, Yamunagar, Kurukhetra and Ambala in Haryana. He said that the total cost of this project is Rs 4600 crore out of which Rs. 3200 crore has been earmarked for Civil Cost and Rs. 1400 crore for amount to be disbursed for land acquisition.While reviewing the Forest Clearance Status, Sh. Kaushal further directed District Forest Officers to visit the sites and expedite the work of land clearance falling under the Department. He further directed the Forest Conservators to identify and inspect the piece of land for plantation in lieu of the land acquired.Sh. Kaushal was apprised in the meeting that the 6 lane green field highway to be constructed is the part of Ludhiana Bareilly Corridor which is connecting from Delhi-Saharanpur-Dehradun Expressway near Shamli and ends at Sadopur near Ambala in Haryana. The Major area of this highway passes through agricultural land.Among those present in the meeting include Additional Chief Secretary, Mines and Geology Department, Sh. A.K Singh, Additional Chief Secretary, Forests and Wildlife Department, Sh. Vineet Garg and other senior officers.
