Haryana Public Health Engineering and Cooperation Minister, Dr. Banwari Lal said that Portable drinking water is a crucial component of every person’s existence. The government’s primary aim is to ensure that all of its citizens have access to pure and clean drinking water, he added.In the state, under the leadership of Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, effective steps are being taken in the direction of providing pure and clean drinking water to all the citizens by connecting them with the Jal Jeevan Mission campaign.Public Health Engineering Minister, Dr. Banwari Lal was presiding over the meeting of officers of Public Health Engineering Department at his residence in Bawal. He said that the concerned authorities should ensure that the common people do not have to face any inconvenience related to drinking water. According to him, the Haryana government’s “Har Ghar, Nal Se Jal Scheme” ensures that every household in the villages has access to 70 litres of safe drinking water per person per day. He directed that more tanks should be built by expanding the capacity of existing tanks wherever there are water works based on canal water in order to ensure there is no shortage of water.Dr. Banwari Lal said that in cities where there is a problem of rain water drainage, comprehensive arrangements should be made for water drainage. He added that additional land should be taken in the villages through public representatives and administration to increase the accessibility of drinking water. He further stated that wherever water and sewerage lines are to be laid in Rewari, Bawal and Dharuhera cities, make sure to prepare an estimate under the AMRUT scheme for further approval.Chief Engineer of the Public Health Engineering Department, Sh. Devender Dahiya, Superintendent Engineer, Sh. Sanjeev Kumar Duhan, Executive Engineer, Sh. Ravinder Kumar Gothwal, Executive Engineer, Sh. Vinay Prakash Chauhan and many senior officers were present during the meeting.
