Haryana State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Sh. Raj kumar Makkar while speaking during public meeting and Awareness Camp organised at Palwal on Saturday to redress the problems of Divyangjans of the district, said that it is very important for all the Divyangjan to link their Unique Disability Identity Card (UDID) with Family ID to avail the benefits of Central and State Government schemes, otherwise the Divyangjan.The State Commissioner listened to the grievances of the Divyang and assured to redress them. He stated that they should be conscious and endeavour to make others aware. He directed Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Suresh to provide UDID cards to all Divyangjans in the district as soon as possible so that they could get benefit.He said that on the basis of the appointment letter issued by Haryana Kaushal Rojgar Nigam, (HKRNL), PWDs join the job. After this the Divyangs will be shifted to their own district. The Haryana Government is committed to serving Divyangjans and is providing employment opportunities in the government and private sector as well. The government has also mandated that every petrol pump in the state at least hire two Divyangjans, work is being done to secure the rights of Divyangjans and provide them with all government rights under the leadership of Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal.He stated that the Central Government, collaborating with the Haryana Government, is organising camps in each district to offer artificial limbs and assistive devices to Divyangjan.Aside from that, Rs 50 lakh is granted to disabled athletes who exclusively compete in international sports, and Rs 5 lakh is given for sports preparation. Disabled athletes are also given government jobs within a year.
