IEP Chandigarh, August 14
Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the BJP has brought significant systemic changes during its nine-year tenure. These changes have resulted in providing benefits for the public fairly and transparently. Now people do not have to wait or make rounds to get the benefits they deserve, he said.
“Congress cannot even think of making similar changes but calls us ‘Portal ki sarkar’. We are happy that the radical IT changes we brought have not only streamlined processes for citizens but have led to enhancing their convenience along with a notable reduction in corrupt practices,” said Sh. Manohar Lal while addressing the villagers during a Jan Samvad held at Pundrak in Karnal district today.
During the Samvad, three elderly namely Satpal, Roshan and Banarasi got their pension certificates on the spot from the Chief Minister.
He said that the BJP has done twice as much development work in 9 years than Congress did in 10 years. Not only this, development works have been completed in half of the money that was spent during the Congress rule. Before 2014, only 15 paise out of 100 used to reach the bottom, but now with one click, 100 percent reaches the accounts of the beneficiaries, said the Chief Minister.
He said that there was a time when, while distributing old age pensions, if ten people’s pension was left in the evening, it was shown to be distributed by adopting unfair means but now nothing of such sort happens as the present state government has started the system of giving automated pensions. Now the deserving and the actual beneficiaries are getting their due benefits.
The Chief Minister further said that the amount of grant to be sent for the development of the villages has been decided according to the population. Panchayats or Municipal Corporation has the freedom to spend this amount. Directions have been given to the officers that the families whose PPP cards have not been made in the village should be made immediately as PPP has become an important document to take advantage of various schemes, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister informed that according to the PPP data, the population of Pundrak is 3863. The income of 53 percent of people is less than 1.80 lakh. 1731 people are eligible under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Out of these 1565 cards have been approved and 108 people have taken advantage of the scheme. The government has spent Rs 40 lakh on the treatment of the beneficiaries who have availed of the benefits of Ayushman cards, informed Sh. Manohar Lal.
On the complaint shared by Sher Singh who had alleged that despite having the Ayushman card he had to spend an amount of Rs.711 lakh on the treatment of his son, the Chief Minister directed the CMO to investigate the matter.
Sh. Manohar Lal said that 133 new ration cards have been made in the village based on PPP. Earlier the number of ration card holders was 357 which has now increased to 490. The old age pension of three people has been made automatically.
The Chief Minister said that today the era of getting jobs based on recommendations is over. In nine years, 20 people have got central and 20 state government jobs in this village. Under the Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Parivar Yojana, loans for 26 people have been approved. Besides this, development works worth Rs 2.88 crore have been done in this village, shared Sh. Manohar Lal.
He said that a library will be opened in every village in the state. He also assured to consider the demand for the construction of the Volleyball Academy Hostel in Karnal.
The Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi has given a call to the nation to Vibhajan Vibhishika Smriti Diwas on August 14 every year. On this day, many were martyred and lakhs had to leave the country. Today it has been 76 years since this sad event happened. Painful stories of partition can be heard from the elders since that time, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
Taking strict cognizance of the issue of delay in the removal of electric wires, which were hindering the laying of the shed on the railway under the bridge at the Uchana by-pass, the Chief Minister said that the development works should not stop due to lack of money. The officers concerned apprised the Chief Minister that the said work of shifting the wires will be done at Rs. 7 lakhs.
Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Anish Yadav, ADC, Ms. Vaishali Sharma, Superintendent of Police, Sh. Shashank Kumar Sawan and other dignitaries remained present on this occasion.
