IEP Chandigarh, January 13

Haryana Home and Health Minister Sh Anil Vij said that individuals engaged in sending people aboard by fraudulent means (kabootarbazi) will not be allowed to reside in Haryana, and stringent measures will be implemented against those found participating in such unlawful activities. Minister Vij emphasized the ongoing efforts of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in addressing Kabootarbazi cases in Haryana, noting that more than 500 individuals involved in this practice have been apprehended so far.

Minister Anil Vij was redressing the concerns of people from various parts of the state at his residence in Ambala today. He highlighted the establishment of a dedicated team in Haryana specifically tasked with addressing Kabootarbazi cases, affirming their continuous and proactive approach to tackling this issue.

In response to reported incidents, Haryana’s Home and Health Minister, Anil Vij, took prompt action. A family from Gharaunda conveyed that their brother had been deceived of Rs 5.5 lakh under the pretext of sending him abroad. Additionally, a woman from Jandheri reported a similar case involving her brother, who was defrauded of Rs 3.5 lakh. In light of these complaints and a couple of other similar cases pertaining to fraudulent activities related to sending people abroad, the Minister Vij swiftly referred all these cases to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and issued explicit instructions to initiate necessary actions against the accused.

Likewise, a family from Firozpur Jhirka raised concerns about the apparent inaction against the accused in a rape case. In response, Anil Vij reassured the distressed family, stating, “People should not have to shed tears; that’s why I am here. No one need to cry.” He instructed a thorough inquiry into the matter and demanded a comprehensive action taken report on the steps undertaken. A couple from Karnal expressed dissatisfaction with the police’s response to the assault on their son, while an applicant from Rohtak complained about the unwarranted imposition of Section 307 in a case. Another individual from Mahendragarh reported the unlawful occupation of a house by a neighboring lawyer. A woman from Narnaund alleged that her daughter-in-law had falsely implicated her and her daughter in a case. Furthermore, applicants from Jind voiced their concerns about the lack of action against the accused in the vandalism of a revered idol of Shiromani Shri Guru Ravidas Ji. Taking cognizance of these issues, Sh Vij directed the concerned officials to promptly address and take necessary actions in each case.

In another case, a woman from Karnal, while articulating her grievance, shared that she is battling cancer and her Ayushman card has not been issued yet, despite her family’s income being less than Rs one lakh, as per the family identity card. Responding promptly, the Home Minister contacted the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Karnal and instructed the immediate issuance of the Ayushman card for the concerned applicant, in accordance with the established guidelines. He said that every written complaint received is diligently addressed and action is taken in accordance with the prescribed rules.

During this interaction, Minister Vij extended his heartfelt congratulations to the people of the state on the occasion of the Lohri festival.
