Chandigarh, 6 August: Haryana Transport Minister Sh. Anil Vij said that he has received reports that the routes of private buses have not been determined properly and in this regard, concerned officers have been directed to study the timing of these routes. He said that the process of purchasing new buses, especially electric buses, is underway.
Sh Vij was responding to the queries of media persons here today.
Sh. Vij said that in many areas, private buses operate before government buses, attracting most passengers, leaving government buses with fewer riders. He has directed officers to investigate and study these situations. Additionally, department officers have been tasked with examining whether the timing of these routes can be adjusted, and reviewing the criteria used to assign routes to private buses.
He said that Haryana Roadways is not a commercial entity but a service organization, and as such, buses will be provided to every village in the state.
In response to a question about the purchase of new buses, he said that many existing buses are becoming obsolete, and the process of acquiring new buses, particularly electric ones, is already in progress.
