Chandigarh, July 11- Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. Shyam Singh Rana said that it is a matter of great good fortune for Haryana that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi will flag off the country’s first hydrogen-powered train from Jind. He said that during his visit on July 17, the Prime Minister will present several major development projects to the state, including the inauguration of the Kurukshetra Railway Elevated Track and Station project and the laying of the foundation stone of the Sikh Museum.
The Cabinet Minister said the hydrogen-powered train would not cause any pollution and would help conserve fuel. The train will have the capacity to carry around 800 passengers at a time. He said this achievement would help realise Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).
He said that a programme would also be organised in Kurukshetra, as the work on the Railway Elevated Track and Station project, whose foundation stone was laid by former Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, has now been completed through the efforts of Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.
The Cabinet Minister said that the Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi will inaugurate the project and dedicate it to the people. He added that the trial run of trains on the elevated track, along with all other necessary works, has already been completed.
The Cabinet Minister said the completion of the project would provide major benefits to city residents as well as people coming to the city from outside. An elevated railway track has been constructed over the city’s five railway crossings. Trains will now run on the elevated track, while the roads below will remain open to vehicular traffic 24 hours a day. As a result, motorists will no longer have to get caught in traffic jams, and, most importantly, trade and commercial activity in the city will receive a significant boost.
