Haryana Police razes illegal property of drug peddler in Sirsa

In a crackdown against people involved in drug trade, Haryana Police has demolished an illegal house built by a drug peddler on panchayat land in Sirsa district.

Sharing the information here today, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that a joint team of police and civil administration demolished the illegal construction raised by drug peddler Nirmal Singh, a resident of village Ganga in Sirsa by rolling bulldozer on the premises.

Nirmal had built a house on illegally occupying about 200 yards of Panchayati land, which was demolished with the help of local administration.

He informed that three cases were registered against him in Sadar Dabwali police station under the NDPS Act while one case under the Excise Act. Apart from this, a case under NDPS Act is also registered against him at Gidderbaha police station of Punjab State. Presently, he is lodged in District Jail Sirsa.

Police is taking stern action against miscreants and drug traffickers and in the last few days several properties acquired through ill-gotten means by such elements have been demolished. Such action on drug peddlers and other miscreants will continue in future also, he added.

Mohali Ayaan shines in U-14 school cricket tournament

Ayaan Srivastava while leading YPS Mohali cricket team in under 14 Indian Public School Conference (IPSC) tournament at Pune recently played  a crucial part in YPS win in tournament while shining with both bat and ball.  

Due to his sterling all-rounder performance, he was named player of the tournament. Ayaan was in fact man of the match in three consecutive matches from quarter final to final and scored 145 runs and took 6 wickets in the tournament.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENT’S INITIATIVE TO USE PLASTIC IN ROADS CONSTRUCTION

Under the leadership of the Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Mann, following the efforts of the Punjab government to ensure the disposal of plastic waste and its use in development works, Bathinda Municipal Corporation started the work of constructing roads from plastic waste in a unique initiative.

Local Government Minister Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar, while giving this information, said that with the introduction of the use of plastic in road construction by the Municipal Corporation Bathinda staff, an effective solution to plastic waste has also been found and the cost will also be reduced. He said that Jujhar Singh Nagar Road at Bathinda from Bajwa House to Main Street and street no. 3- A road has been constructed using plastic waste at Jujhar Singh Nagar. Apart from this, the road has been constructed using plastic at street number 3 B Jujhar Singh Nagar.He said that 1000 running feet long road has been constructed using 8 percent plastic waste in bitumen.

Local Government Minister said that by using plastic for the construction of roads, there will be success in solving the problem of plastic waste, which will make the environment clean and pollution free.

 He said that by using plastic for construction of roads, the roads will be made of better quality than before. Along with this, the cost of road construction will also reduce. He said that its immediate results are satisfactory. Soon in other committees/corporations will also use plastic for road construction, he added.

State treasury to be richer by identifying 90248 deceased beneficiaries: Dr. Baljit Kaur

          On the directions of Minister of Social Security, Women and Child Development Department of Punjab Dr. Baljit kaur, department has conducted a survey and identified 90,248 deceased beneficiaries of various pension schemes. With this step, state treasury will be richer by 13.53 crore per month.

          Divulging the detail, Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur said that a survey of 30.46 lakh beneficiaries of Punjab has been conducted. On completion of this survey, 90248 deceased beneficiaries have been identified.By identifying the deceased beneficiaries, Punjab government will save 13.53 crore per month and 162.36 crore annually.

The Minister said that with the identification of 90,248 deceased beneficiaries, financial loss of the government has stopped as well as the amount will be spent to help other needy people.

The Cabinet Minister said that the Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) scheme will be implemented to pay the pension to the beneficiaries. The pension will be disbursed to the beneficiaries through business correspondence deployed by bank.

          To implement the scheme, first two pilot projects will be started soon in district Sangrur and Sri Muktsar Sahib.

Drinking water problem solved in Fazilka district villages: Jimpa

Drinking water problem has been resolved in Dona Nanka, Teja Ruhela and Chak Ruhela villages of Fazilka district, said Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Bram Shanker Jimpa.

He said that there was a lot of problem of clean drinking water in these villages and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had directed him to visit these villages and find a solution at the earliest.

Jimpa visited these villages in the last week of July and solved the problem raised by the villagers, therefore, now clean water is being supplied in these villages.

Divulging further, Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Bram Shanker Jimpa said that the residents of Dona Nanka, Teja Ruhela and Chak Ruhela villages were facing a lot of problems of clean drinking water. He visited these villages after the instructions given by the Chief Minister. Now in these villages ROs have been installed and adequate supply of water is also being provided from water works.

Sarpanch Dayalo Bai of village Dona Nanka, Sarpanch Bagu Singh of Teja Ruhela and Sarpanch Jangir Singh of Chak Ruhela on behalf of their respective village panchayats thanked the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Bram Shanker Jimpa, MLA NarinderPal Singh Sawna and the district administration. Jimpa said that it is the responsibility of the state government to provide basic facilities to the people of Punjab and under the leadership of Bhagwant Mann, efforts are being made to raise the standard of living of every Punjabi.

Property holders in Punjab to get NOC in 15 days

To save the people of Punjab from disputes and litigations during the purchase and sale of property, Finance Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema and Revenue Minister Bram Shanker Jimpa while chairing a high-level meeting on Thursday decided to reduce the NOC process from 21 days to 15 working days.

During this meeting held here at Punjab Bhavan, on the suggestion of Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, it was also decided that NoC would be issued in 5 working days under Tatkal for the convenience of NRIs and other such persons who need it in a short time span. The Finance Minister said that under Tatkal, NRIs or those persons who could not spare more time, would be able to get this facility in 5 days by paying some extra fee.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet Ministers also decided to provide login ID and password to the sub-registrars of the revenue department to check the originality of the NOC at the time of registration. This will help in fixing the responsibility of the concerned officer in case of any registration done using a fake NOC. This would also help in expediting the process of registering criminal cases against the frauds.

In the meeting it was decided to issue new licenses of Deed Writers for the convenience of the people. Along with this, it was also asked to ensure that every Deed Writer should display the instructions issued by the Punjab Government from time to time for the information of property sellers and buyers, and the concerned Tehsildars to ensure the same by conducting random inspections.

During the meeting, it was also decided that the list of all authorized colonies across the state will be published on the departmental websites of Revenue, Housing and Local Government to make people aware of the authorized and unauthorized residential colonies.

The Finance Minister directed the senior officials of the Revenue, Housing and Local Government Departments to submit suggestions for resolving other issues being faced during the property registration process in the next meeting so that immediate decisions could be made for the convenience of the people besides speeding up the real estate growth in the state. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab government is committed to making the operations of all the departments simple and transparent.

Meet Hayer orders filling of vacant posts through restructuring in printing and stationery department

To fill up the vacant posts in Printing and Stationery Department, the re structuring process will be completed soon and these posts will be filled on priority.  It was stated by Printing and Stationery Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer today during a visit to the government press at SAS Nagar.

Meet Hayer said that as per the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwan Mann, state of the art machinery is being installed at the government press. He said that after the creation of vacancies, restructuring will be done under which the unwanted goods are being disposed of and state-of-the-art machines are being purchased.  He directed the department that the work of recruitment of posts and installation of necessary new machinery should be completed soon.

Meet Hayer visited the government press, reviewed the working of the department and saw the machines.  He visited various branches and acquired information about the work.  He asked the staff to work to bring the government press up to date.

 On this occasion, Principal Secretary VK Meena, Special Secretary Dr.  Senu Duggal and Controller Vimmi Bhullar were also present.

Vigilance arrests private person for committing fraud of Rs 9 lakh with Coop bank

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its ongoing campaign against corruption on Thursday arrested a private person Jagjit Singh of village Dhoolka, Amritsar district for committing embezzlement in the Central Cooperative Bank, Tarsika amounting to Rs. 9,75,771 in connivance with bank officials.

Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of VB said the above mentioned accused in conniving with bank manager Rakesh Kumar, cashier Ram Kishore and secretary Kulwant Singh had encashed the money after transferring it to the personal accounts of accused in other banks whereas the cooperative bank could not transfer such amount from off-line account of Kisan Credit Card to other bank accounts.

He further informed that during investigation by the VB, it was found that the above mentioned bank officials by colluding with the accused Jagjit Singh had transferred Rs.51,94,900 to other banks in Gehri Mandi, Amritsar district.

In this case seven accused had already been arrested who had committed this fraud in the above said bank to the tune of Rs 24 crore. In this regard a case under section 420, 409, 419, 465, 467, 468, 471, 477-A, 120-B of IPC, section 43-A, 43 (i), 66, 66-D of IT Act and 7, 13 of prevention of corruption act had already been registered.
