Farmers facing shortage of DAP fertilizer in entire Haryana, including Adampur: Hooda

Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda raised questions to the state government regarding the shortage of fertilizers, record unemployment and allocating CET exam centres in far-flung areas. 

Hooda said that farmers in entire Haryana including Adampur are facing the shortage of DAP fertilizer. “When the Chief Minister was addressing an election rally in Adampur Mandi, farmers were waiting for their turn standing in long queues of fertilizers 50 meters away from the venue. The situation is such that even after standing in queues for several days, farmers are not getting fertilize for their crops,” he said.

“Farmers have to wait for payment for paddy, bajra and cotton. Despite claims by the government, it is unable to pay the farmers on time. The farmers have not received compensation for the crops damaged due to the weather in every season for the last three years,” he said. 

Speaking on the issue of unemployment, Hooda said that once again the CMIE data has shown a mirror to the government. “Due to the policies of the government, Haryana is at the top of the country with an unemployment rate of 31.8%. The unemployment figures released every month tell the same story every time as the present BJP-JJP government has proved to be a complete failure in providing employment to the youth,” he stated. 

He said the government continues to harass the youth who have been waiting for a long time for the Common Entrance Test. “The youth have been given CET exam centres 150-200 km away from their homes. Because of this, the candidates and especially the women have to face a lot of trouble. It has been seen many times that due to such decision of the government, candidates have become victims of fatal accidents, but it seems as if the sensibilities of the government have run out and it has once again put the lives of the youth at risk,” he said. 

Hooda said that due to this indifference and ignorance, every section of the state wants to change this government. “This change will start from Adampur and the people will teach a lesson to the BJP government with the power of their vote,” he said.

There was a dedicated segment on Urban Transport in the conference where panelist fromvarious field talked about upcoming trends and solutions to the problems in the city wideareas. Important topics like Green Transport, Artificial Intelligence, Road safety and smart

parking were discussed. Panelists talked about importance of including technology in citytransport to to have holistic monitoring and management. Punjab reconstitutes Patiala and East Punjab State Union Townships Development Board

          The Punjab Government has reconstituted the Patiala and East Punjab State Union Townships Development Board and appointed Chairman, Sr. Vice Chairman, Vice Chairman and Members for a period of three years.

          Divulging the details, a spokesperson said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann appointed as Chairman, Revenue, Rehabilitation & Disaster Management Minister Bram Shanker Jimpa as Sr. Vice Chairman and Neena Mittal MLA Rajpura as Vice Chairperson. Similarly Ritesh Bansal, Gurveer Singh Sarao, Sumit Bakshi and Jatinder Verma appointed as Members.

          He said that Financial Commissioner, Revenue Punjab & Deputy Commissioner Patiala appointed as official members of the board and SDM Rajpura as Administrator. A notification in this regard has been issued by Revenue department.

Vigilance arrests revenue Patwari for taking bribe Rs 13,000

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau during its campaign against corruption on Tuesday arrested a Patwari Harbans Singh (now retired) who was earlier posted at revenue halqa Lehragaga, district Sangrur for accepting a bribe of Rs. 13,000.

Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau (VB) said Patwari Harbans Singh was arrested on the complaint of Rajinder Singh of Lehragaga. He informed that the complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the above said Patwari has taken Rs. 13,000 for registration of Intqal of  plot belongs to his family.

After investigation of his complaint, the VB has registered a bribery case against the accused Patwari and arrested him today. He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB, Economic Offences Wing, police station Patiala and further investigation was under progress.

Even though Haryana was constituted as a separate state on November 1, 1966, but historically and spiritually, it is known from the primitive culture.  According to Manu, Haryana emerged from the name of gods and it is also known as Brahmavarta region.  The state level function of the 57th Haryana Day organized at Haryana Raj Bhavan witnessed a scintillating cultural programme today.
In last eight years, the sportspersons of Haryana have brought laurels to the country by winning medals in national and international level competitions in sports whereas it has also become an IT hub as many MNCs have been setting their base in Cyber City Gurugram.

Haryana is exporting 50 percent of developed softwares to other countries.  In recent eight years, the people of Haryana have also got a visionary Chief Minister in the form of ‘IT Guru’ who has made strenuous efforts to expedite 600 services of various departments online.  Other states have been following the online teacher transfer policy formulated by Haryana Government.
Haryana Governor, Sh.  Bandaru Dattatraya and Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal extended warm greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Haryana Day.

During the programme of Haryana Day celebrations, shades of cultural programmes were presented showcasing culture of Haryana and other states.  The programme started with Saraswati Aradhana and lighting the traditional lamp.  Besides Haryanvi culture and folk songs, a glimpse of Bhavai dance left the audience spellbound in the programme.  The performance of Haryana’s Loor dance in the programme left everyone entranced.  In the end, the performance of Punjabi Bhangra in the presentation was also commendable.  The Governor, Sh. Bandaru Dattatraya, pleased with the cultural program, announced Rs. 3 lakh to the artists.

Haryana CM pays floral tributes to the statues of Sushila Devi

 Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal on Tuesday paid floral tributes to the statues of Late. Smt. Sushila Devi, wife of Governor Orissa, Prof. Ganeshi Lal, and in the memory of Late Smt. Lalita Devi, wife of philanthropist and businessman, Sh. Brij Mohan Singla, in an organised programme held at the Royal Haveli in Sirsa.
Earlier, Governor of Orissa, Prof Ganeshi Lal and the Chief Minister paid floral tributes to the statue of Lord Jagannath installed at the main gate of the Royal Haveli.

Governor of Orissa, Prof. Ganeshi Lal said that by helping and serving the needy, not only do we get virtue, but we also get spiritual happiness. Late Sushila Devi was always ready for the welfare of the needy. Many works of social service are being carried out by ‘Hare Ka Sahara Trust’. In the memory of Smt. Sushila Devi and Smt. Lalita Devi, the trust will distribute sewing machines to needy women, uniforms to school children and sports kits to sportspersons.
 
On this occasion, Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that he has an old association with Prof. Ganeshi Lal. While remembering Late. Smt. Sushila Devi, Chief Minister stated that she was an extremely kind person who was constantly eager to help everyone. Her compassion and affection will always stay in our heart. The body is mortal, but the thoughts of a person remain immortal even after the body is gone. A person’s memories last a lifetime because of their ideas and actions. He said that whatever social service work is being carried out in the memory of Late Smt. Sushila Devi, will benefit people at large.

 The Chief Minister extended the best on the occasion of Haryana Day. By being created as a separate state, Haryana has defined the parameters of advancement in various domains. All of this is the outcome of the people of Haryana’s efforts and commitment.

Vigilance arrests two education dept officials and two private persons for misappropriation of funds

 The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its ongoing anti-corruption drive on Tuesday arrested two officials of education department besides two private persons for embezzlement for funds amounting to Rs. 10,01,120 received under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA).

          Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the VB said the Bureau had registered a case under FIR 14, dated 01-11-2022 under sections 409, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120-B of IPC at EOW wing , Ludhiana against  Rakesh Gupta, Principal Government in-service training center Gurdaspur, now posted as Principal, Government girls senior secondry school, Bhagowal, Gurdaspur, Rampal, Lecturer, Government in-service training center Gurdaspur, now posted as Principa,l Government Senior secondry school Kathlor, Pathankot District, Jatinder Kumar, owner of Krishna Tent House and Mukesh Mahajan of Taragarh owner of firm named Sigma decorate.

          He further added that during the investigation of this case, it was found that the above said In-Service Traning Centre Gurdaspur received this grant under RMSA for the training centre. Under the said scheme, Rakesh Gupta, Principal and Rampal, Lecturer in conniving with others  prepared bogus bills of fake firms to usurp the funds. The accused transferred the government money to a thier personal bank account and thereby caused financial loss to the state exchequer by embezzling the total funds of Rs 10,01,120 released for hiring different types of services, chairs, tables, tent and others.

He informed that on the basis of this probe it was established that the above mentioned accused has misappropriated the funds. In this regard the Bureau has arrested all of the above said accused. Further investigation in this case is under progress.

Medical officer posted at Civil Hospital Dasuya suspended

On Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Mr. Chetan Singh Jauramajra’s instructions, a Medical Officer Surgery posted at Civil Hospital Dasuya, District Hoshiarpur has been suspended with immediate effect on charges of dereliction of duty.

The spokesperson of Punjab Health Department said that Dr. Ranjit Singh, Medical Officer Surgery has been suspended on administrative grounds under Rule 4(1) of the Punjab Civil Services (Punishment and Appeal) Rules, 1970 with immediate effect.

According to the spokesperson, the station of the concerned officer during suspension will be Head Office, Director Health and Family Welfare, Chandigarh.

Punjab launches ‘Tobacco Free Health Institutions’ campaign on ‘Punjab State No Tobacco Day’

Under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Punjab Government has initiated a drive to wipe out tobacco usage to save children and youth across the State. Punjab is the first State in the country who celebrated a state specific “Punjab State No Tobacco Day” on 1st November. The theme of Punjab State No Tobacco Day 2022 campaign is “Tobacco Free Health Institutions”. The motive of this campaign is to make all the institutions Tobacco free and to protect non-users from involuntary exposure to tobacco smoke.

Divulging about the strenuous efforts of Punjab Government to eradicate tobacco usage in adolescent groups and youth, Punjab Health Minister Mr. Chetan Singh Jauramajra stated that a special week long campaign has been launched w.e.f 1st November to 7th November 2022 for declaring all the Government health institutions as Tobacco Free and for the strict implementation of Anti-Tobacco laws. At district level, all the Govt. health institutions will be declared as Tobacco Free.

According to the National Family Health Survey 2020-21 (NFHS-5) conducted under the aegis of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the tobacco use among men in Punjab state declined from 19.2% (NFHS-4) to 12.9% (NFHS-5) during last 5 years, which is lowest among all the states of the country.

Speaking more about this ongoing initiative, Mr. Jauramajra said that the Health department of Punjab has taken up tobacco control as a flagship program. Total 14065 (2021–22) & 10,708 (April–Sept 22) Challans have been issued against the violators under Cigarette and other Tobacco products Act, 2003 (COTPA, 2003). Tobacco Cessation centers (TCCs) have been established in all the districts. Free counseling services and cessation medicines like Tab Bupropion, Nicotine gums and patches are being provided in these centers. Total 19932 (2021- 22) & 5142 (April–Sept 2022) tobacco users have availed services at TCCs. More than 700 Villages in the state have been declared as Tobacco Free.

Mr. Jauramajra urged that everyone of us should pledge to make Punjab a tobacco free state as tobacco use is associated with a range of communicable and non-communicable diseases and mental health disorders, wreaking a high social cost. He said that Punjab is a pioneer state to focus on youth by timely ban on E cigarettes, hookah bars and by declaring schools as Tobacco Free. State will continue making efforts to curb this menace of Tobacco usage as this will go a long way in deterring young children & youth from initiation & also motivate current users to quit.

Vigilance nabs revenue Patwari, private person for taking bribe Rs. 5,000

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau during its campaign against corruption today nabbed a revenue Patwari Mandeep Singh, posted at Dhandari Kalan, district Ludhiana and a private person Soni, red handed accepting a bribe of Rs. 5,000.

Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau (VB) said Patwari Mandeep Singh was arrested on the complaint of Daljit Singh resident of Kabir Nagar, Ludhiana city. He informed that the complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the above said Patwari and his middleman were demanding Rs. 5,000 to provide the record of a plot registered in the name his mother. He further said that he had already paid a bribe of Rs. 1000 as a first installment to the accused middleman.

After verifying his information, a VB team laid a trap and the accused Patwari and his middleman were arrested on the spot while accepting a bribe of Rs. 5,000 as second installment from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.

The spokesperson informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB, Economic Offences Wing, police station Ludhiana and further investigation was under progress.
