In the matter of Deh Shamlat land, a solution will be found by staying within the ambit of the law. While protecting the interests of the farmers, the government will not allow any farmer to be harmed in any way; this was stated by the Additional Chief Secretary, Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Disaster Management and Consolidation Departments, Sh. Varinder Singh Kundu while talking to the mediapersons after the meeting of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar with the farmers’ delegation.
Earlier, a delegation of farmers met the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister assured all possible help to the farmers’ delegation. He said that the present government is completely dedicated to the interests of the farmers. The Chief Minister told the farmers’ delegation that whether it is the matter of crop compensation or the purchase of MSP crops, the government has always defended the interests of the farmers.
After the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary, Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Disaster Management and Consolidation Departments, Sh. Varinder Singh Kundu said that the Chief Minister has assured that all possible help will be extended to the farmers within the legal framework and no damage will be allowed to impact the farmers. He said that the government has heard the side of the farmers’ leaders and each and every issue will be resolved. In the case of Naraingarh Sugar Mills, the previous dues of the farmers will be paid first. The government’s stand is also positive for compensation for crop damage caused by water logging.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Dr. Sumita Misra, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister V Umashankar, Managing Director, Haryana Power Generation Corporation Ltd, Mohammed Shayin, ADGP CID, Alok Mittal, Director General Agriculture, Hardeep Singh, Commissioner of Police, Panchkula, Dr. Hanif Qureshi were present, while Suresh Kauth, Amarjit Modi, Jagdish Singh Aulakh, Sukhwinder Singh, Dr. Darshan Pal, Sahab Singh Sandhu, Shingara Singh, Jagtar Singh and Mandeep Nathwan participated from the farmers’ organizations.
