Applications invited for Sports Awards-2022.

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has invited applications for Sports Awards-2022.

 The application must be submitted online by September 20. Official notification in this regard has been uploaded on www.yas.nic.in website.

Giving information in this regard, an official spokesperson said that applications are invited from eligible sportspersons, coaches, entities, and universities for sports awards. This year onwards, applications will be submitted through online mode using dbtyas-sports.gov.in portal. The applicants eligible in accordance with the award guidelines are permitted to self-apply, without the recommendation of the authorities or persons.

He said that Sports Awards are given every year to recognize and reward excellence in sports. They include Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award, Arjuna Award, Dronacharya Award, Dhyan Chand Award, Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puraskar, and Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Trophy. Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award is given for the spectacular and most outstanding performance in the field of sports by a sportsperson over a period of four years.

NATIONAL NUTRITION MONTH WILL BE CELEBRATED IN THE STATE FROM SEPTEMBER 1 TO SEPTEMBER 30: DR. BALJIT KAUR

The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan is continuously working for the welfare of children and women. Under this series, National Nutrition Month is being celebrated by the state government from 1st September 2022 to 30 September 2022 in the state. This information was given here today by the Minister for Social Security, Women and Child Development, Dr. Baljit Kaur.

Dr. Baljit Kaur said that this nutrition month and fortnight is celebrated every year by the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) with the participation of all partner ministries/departments.

She said that activities related to women and their health, child and education and also water conservation and management, nutritional food for women and children will be conducted during the National Nutrition Month. People can send their suggestions in this regard at e-mail ID reshma.nair@gov.in to make the National Nutrition Month a grand success.

Got place in National Institutional Ranking Framework released by the Union Ministry of Education

Another achievement has been added in the name of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University. The Indira Chakraborty College of Home Science of the University has secured 42nd rank in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) released by the Union Ministry of Education across the country for the year 2022 while it stood first in Haryana. In the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) as many as 2270 colleges from across the country had participated.

The University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. B.R. Kamboj said that due to its achievements, this university has made a different identity at the national and international level. He congratulated the Dean, teachers, staff and students of Home Science College for this achievement. He said, “it is difficult task for any institute to achieve a high rank and even more difficult to stay in the same position.” He said that this college has been successful to be among the top 50 institutes of country for the last three years. “A work plan will be framed for the college to achieve more heights in future,” he added.

The NIRF ranking is finalized according to performance of the educational institutions on several parameters that include learning and resources, research and professional practice, outreach and inclusivity, graduation outcome and perception. The ranking is prepared based on the subject domain and the type of institute.

The Dean of the college, Dr. Manju Mahta said that with this ranking the teaching and research work of the college have got recognition at the national level. Efforts will continue to reach at first position, she said.
