As part of the Raktdaan Amrit Mahotsav celebrations (17th September – 1st October), the National Voluntary Blood Donation Day was observed on 1st October 2022 by the Department of Transfusion Medicine, PGI, Chandigarh.
Three blood donation camps were organized in which 150 blood donations were donated.
The first camp was organized at the premise of Mata Mansa Devi Mandir, Panchkula in association with the Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Board & Indian Red Cross Society, Panchkula, Shree Shiv Kanwar Mahasangh Charitable Trust, Panchkula and Mahamai Mata Mansa Devi Mandir Charitable Bhandara Committee motivated by Sh. Rakesh Kumar Sangar.
The second camp was organized at the BSNL, Sector 34 Chandigarh under the motivation of Sh. Mahesh Chand Singh, GM TD BSNL.
The third was an indoor camp at the blood donation centre of PGI camp was organized in association with the Thalassemia Charitable Trust (Regd.) motivated by Mr. Rajinder Kalra and Rayat-Bahra University, School of Medical & Allied Sciences motivated by Dr. Pankaj Kaul. The blood donors were felicitated and thanked for their vital contribution by Prof. Sadhna B Lal, Prof. Vipin Koushal, Prof. Pankaj Malhotra and Prof. Ratti Ram Sharma.
