Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala while presiding over the meeting of the officers of Food and Supplies Department at his office, has reviewed in detail about the district wise arrival, purchase and payment related to paddy crop.
The Deputy CM further said that the smooth procurement of paddy this time in the history of Haryana is commendable, in which the cooperation of departmental officers and farmers has played a special role. Moreover, this time, the farmers did not face any problem in the sale and payment of paddy, he added.
During the meeting, Sh. Dushyant Chautala was further informed that 210 mandis were opened for paddy procurement in ‘Kharif procurement season 2022-23’ in which 55,10,156 metric tonnes of paddy have been procured till November 1, 2022. In this, the Food and Supplies Department has procured 50 percent, Hafed 30 percent, the Food Corporation of India 5 percent and Haryana Warehousing Corporation 15 percent paddy. As far as district wise paddy procurement is concerned, the agencies have procured the maximum number of 11,75,378 MT in Kurukshetra and 10,85,575 MT in Karnal.
On the occasion, Commissioner and Secretary, Food and Supplies Department, Sh. Pankaj Agarwal, Director-General of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Sh. Hardeep Singh, Deputy Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sh. KM Pandurang, Managing Director of Haryana State Warehousing Corporation, Dr. Shaleen, OSD to Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Kamlesh Bhadu and other senior officers were also present.
