Continuing the state government’s virtuous tradition of celebrating the birth anniversaries of great men and sages at the state level, Haryana today celebrated Guru Gorakshnath Smriti Utsav in a grand manner at Karnal.During this state-level programme, which was attended by people from all spheres, Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal made several pivotal announcements during the programme, these include the establishment of a research chair at Baba Mast Nath University, Asthal Bohar, Rohtak in the name of Guru Gorakhnath, naming an educational institute after him, including Nath sect worshipers in the ‘Pujari Purohit Kalyan Board’ and inclusion of biography and teachings of Guru Gorakhnath in the school curriculum with the objective of making the younger children aware of the teachings of Guru Gorakhnath, asserted Sh. Manohar Lal.Sharing significant information about the state government’s plan of honouring the instrumentalists playing traditional musical instruments, the Chief Minister said that the government is in the process of formulating a pension scheme and soon after its implementation; the beneficiaries will start getting their benefits.He also urged the ‘Yogi Samaj ‘to share the list of their Dharamshalas along with the facilities required there; every feasible demand raised by them will be fulfilled, assured the Chief Minister. “The State Government has announced reservation to BC (A) category in Panchayati Raj Institutions. Now, on the same lines, the reservation will be provided to the BC (A) category in the municipal bodies as well,” announced Sh. Manohar Lal.He said that a provision has been made to give additional 5 marks to the children belonging to Yogi or Ghumantu Jati, provided no one in their family has a government job.“Our saints and great men have always played a significant role in removing the social evils. Even today, their teachings hold relevance and for this reason, only ‘Sant Mahapurush Vichar Samman Evam Prasar Yojana’ has been launched. The Government plays a significant role in spreading the message of communal harmony and peace and teachings of saints and great men among the masses,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.He said that the state government has made tireless efforts to save the girl child and to impart education to them. ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ campaign launched by Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi has played an important role in improving the state’s gender ratio. Besides this, ensuring quality education to every daughter as many as 42 colleges have been opened in Haryana, said Sh. Manohar Lal.He said that the state government has done the work of increasing the self-respect of Antyodaya. Under the Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Yojana, work has been done for the economic upliftment of all such families.“We are making people ‘Atmanirbhar’ and ‘Swabhimani’. We don’t believe in offering freebies just to get votes,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.On this occasion, MP, Alwar Mahant Balak Nath and Former Minister and BJP State President, Sh. OP Dhankhar also addressed the gathering and thanked the Chief Minister for organizing this event.Member of Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Dr. Hansraj, Mahant Shivnath and a large number of people from across the state also remained present on this occasion.
