Inspection of 100 senior secondary schools of Mahendragarh district will be done

As per the order of Haryana Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal, the Education Department is soon going to enter the field with a full team of officers to inspect the senior secondary schools of Haryana. On November 11, 2022, under the leadership of the Director of Secondary Education Department, Sh. Anshaj Singh, the officers of the Directorate of Education will start the inspection of senior secondary schools from Mahendragarh. Sh. Anshaj Singh gave necessary directions regarding the preparations for the inspection by video conferencing with the officers in the directorate today.

Giving details regarding the marathon monitoring, a spokesperson of the Education Department said that under the ‘Shiksha-diksha’ academic supervision, a team of about 100 officers will closely inspect around 100 senior secondary schools in the Mahendragarh district together. All HCS, Joint Director, Deputy Director, Assistant Director and Director SCERT and Program Officer will be present in the team.

During the inspection, the academic level of the students, civil work of schools, the quality of mid-day meals in schools, progress reports of programmes run under FLN, tablets distributed to students under e-learning, SIM cards, PAL software, book distribution etc. will be closely monitored.

Besides this, information about smart classrooms, Government Model Sanskriti Primary School (Bag Free Schools), science kit, and other activities being run by the Department will also be inspected. The amount of grants given by the department to the school will also be checked. The officers will also address the problems and requirements raised by the School Management Committee (SMC) members and parents of the school children.

The Departmental officer said that only those secondary schools will be inspected in which the primary wing is included so that the programme run under Nipun Haryana Mission can also be inspected simultaneously.

The spokesperson further said that a schedule and a complete format have been prepared for this inspection, under which every subject and aspect will be observed closely. The officers of the Directorate will spend the whole day in the same school and prepare their reports. After preparing the report, all the officers will assemble in the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Mahendragarh, where the report will be reviewed under the Chairmanship of the Director, Secondary Education, Special Secretary, School Education Department, Dr. Anshaj Singh. Directions were given to take the progress report of the activities and ongoing works of the department and to rectify the problems, after which it has now been decided by the Education Department to inspect the schools at the district level every Friday. Preparations related to the inspection of schools in other districts have also been done by the department.

Vice President pays tribute to Deen Bandhu Sir Chhotu Ram at a memorial site in Sampla

The Vice President, Sh. Jagdeep Dhankhar  said that the service I can lend to farmers’ is far less than what I want to.

He said today is the most crucial and important day of my life as he has learnt a significant lesson from Deen Bandhu Sir Chhotu Ram memorial site based in Sampla. He said that he will follow the ideas and principles of Chaudhary Chhotu Ram in his entire life. 

While speaking at a programme organized at the memorial site of Deen Bandhu Sir Chhotu Ram at Sampla in Rohtak district the Vice President said that he has no words to explain the joy and energy he has received by visiting the place today. 

He said that coming to this place would be a turning point of his life as he has learnt an important message of life which he is going to implement in his life.

He said that the blessings of the elders should be obtained at any cost. He said that great people like Chaudhary Chhotu Ram created history. He appreciated the thoughts of Chaudhary Chhotu Ram and said that he planned Bhakra Nangal Dam in 1923 according to the needs of the future. He paid tributes to the birthplace of Shi Chaudhary Chhotu Ram. 

Lauding the constructive efforts of Haryana Chief Minister, Sh Manohar Lal, the Vice President said that the Chief Minister of Haryana is an energetic and renowned personality and after being elected as Vice President on August 6, 2022, the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal had asked him to start visiting Haryana from this place and he is highly grateful to him. Haryana state has been touching new heights under the visionary leadership of the Chief Minister. 

In every field, Haryana has been playing an exemplary role  for other states. There are many such schemes of the Haryana government, which have been adopted by other states as well. Important decisions have been taken in Haryana state in the matter of eradicating corruption and ensuring transparency in the official work process of the government and giving jobs on the basis of merit.

He said that after the elections, farmers from all over the country came to offer blessings to him. At the same time, MP, Vijender Singh also presented him five books related to Chaudhary Chhotu Ram. 

On this occasion, the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal greeted the Vice President on his first arrival in Haryana. He said that earlier Haryana was called an agricultural state. Now, the government is trying to make Haryana a farmer-oriented state. Continuous efforts are being made to increase the income of farmers. Haryana is leading in every field. Haryana is the leading state of the country in terms of population and area. Haryana is at the forefront of IT exports across the country. He said that Haryana is excellently contributing to the GDP of the country. The sports persons of Haryana are bringing laurels to the country in the world and an appreciable share of Haryana Youth has been participating in Indian Army. 

In the programme, representatives of various Khap Panchayats of the district honoured the Vice President and felicitated him with a shawl and bouquet.

Vice President visits exhibition organised by Department of Information, Public Relations and Languages

The Vice President of India, Sh. Jagdeep Dhankhar, along with his wife Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar, visited the exhibition organized by the Department of Information, Public Relations and Languages under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav programme at Sampla, Rohtak on Tuesday.

Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, Education Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal, MP, Sh. Brijendra Singh and BJP State President, Sh. Om Prakash Dhankar and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.

The whole country is celebrating the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and under this programme, a special exhibition was organized by the Haryana Government at the Deenbandhu Sir Chhotu Ram  memorial site of Sampla, Rohtak on the arrival of the Vice President of the country in Rohtak. The Vice President along with his wife visited the exhibition. The exhibition’s main theme was the life of Sir Chhotu Ram, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and 8 glorious years of the Haryana Government. 

All the guests highly appreciated the exhibition and said that maximum people should be made aware about the important facts and information showcased by the department in the exhibition. Through such exhibitions, people get to know about the great heroes of the country and the freedom movement. Additionally, by attending these exhibitions, individuals learn about the government-run welfare programmes that are being implemented for the benefit of the general public.  In the exhibition, on behalf of the department, Additional Director, Dr. Kuldeep Saini gave a brief description to all the guests including the Vice President.

In a big move, Punjab establishes first ever Tax Intelligence Unit in the state to give boost to Tax Collection

Punjab Finance, Planning, Excise and Taxation Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema on Tuesday said that the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led Punjab Government has established a new Tax Intelligence Unit (TIU) in the State GST Commissionerate to monitor GSTN platform for better analysis of the digital data available over it.

Revealing this here, the Finance Minister said that the state government has decided to establish TIU as all services and returns of registered taxpayers are available on GSTN platform in digital mode and it is creating a lot of data. He said that this Tax Intelligence Unit (TIU) will work directly under the control of the Taxation Commissioner, and Additional Commissioner (Enforcement) and Director (Investigation) will control it for day-to-day functioning.

“One Assistant Commissioner State Taxes, Three State Taxation Officers, and Six Taxation Inspectors will work full time in TIU”, said Cheema while adding that special Data Analysts, Legal experts, Cyber experts, and System managers were being recruited to make TIU professionally competent.

Cheema further said that a state-level facility with all new technologies and data analysis mechanisms would be set up at the Taxation Office, Patiala. “It will be equipped with the latest hardware, software, and artificial intelligence tools for analysis of data being generated by GST Portal, E-way bill portal, and Toll data of NHAI. The major emphasis will be on identifying and taking strictest action on habitual tax evaders, persons involved in fake billing business, accumulation of bogus Input Tax Credit, etc.”, said Cheema.

Disclosing the future plans and actions to improve the state revenues, Cheema said that the state government has been working on the department’s proposal to convert all Mobile Wings of State GST into State Prevention & Intelligence Units (SIPU). “These SIPUs will be having 9 different field units in various parts of the state and on Central Unit at Taxation Office, Patiala”, said Cheema while adding that these Units would especially work in coordination with TIU to undertake precise action by way of inspections, searches & seizures against big tax evaders.

The Finance Minister said that the Punjab Government had also decided to use the services of GST Prime, the latest data analysis tool created by NIC. He said that GST Prime would help in the creation of specific data analysis reports on various parameters, and the strictest action would be initiated as per these reports. He said that the Department has also undertaken a lot of activities to guide and facilitate genuine taxpayers so that they can do their business in a better way.

Reiterating Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led the Punjab Government’s commitment to improving the fiscal health of the state, Cheema said that the state government has received more than Rs. 250 crores through enforcement actions by way of inspections & checking of vehicles; using data mining for recovery of pending dues from tax evaders and conducting an audit of selected high-volume taxpayers, whereas, during the regime of the previous government the department had received only 600 crores in last two years. He said that it was very unfortunate that the previous government did not pay any attention to improving state finances and remained dependent only on the GST compensation being provided by the Centre Government.

Local Bodies Minister inaugurates vertical gardens under BRS Nagar flyover

Continuing with mission of beautifying Ludhiana, Punjab Local Bodies Minister Dr Inderbir Singh Nijjar on Tuesday inaugurated vertical garden project with covering 31 columns with vertical gardens under flyover in BRS Nagar along with Sidhwan Canal stretch.

He was also accompanied by MLAs Gurpreet Bassi Gogi, Madan Lal Bagga, Ashok Parashar Pappi, Hardeep Singh Mundian, Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu, MC Commissioner Dr Shena Aggarwal, besides several others.

Giving more information about project, Dr Nijjar said that the project would cost Rs 2.17 crore and would be over by January 31, 2023. He said that 260 plants of different varieties would be strung on bio-panels under flyover besides a dedicated drip irrigation facility will be set up for watering the plants daily.

The Minister said that the company to which tenders had been alloted, will also maintain the vertical gardens for next there years. He said that these vertical gardens will add more beauty to this area besides making Ludhiana more greener and cleaner.

Dr Nijjar pointed out that the concept of vertical gardens on flyover pillars had been taken from Delhi and Jammu cities where such projects have remained successful and received overwhelming response from the people.

The Minister expressed hope that these green walls will also minimize the pollution levels in the city which is known as Industrial hub of India. He said that Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was committed to make Rangla Punjab with overall development of cities and rural areas of the state.

Dr Inderbir Singh Nijjar inaugurates legacy waste bioremediation plant at Tajpur Road dump site

IEP Chandigarh/Ludhiana, November 8

Punjab Local Bodies Minister Dr Inderbir Singh Nijjar on Tuesday inaugurated the project of legacy waste bioremediation plant at Tajpur Road dump site which will clear five lakh tonnes of legacy waste under its first phase in next 22-months.

The project will cost Rs 27.17 crore and is being executed under Ludhiana Smart City Mission. The total area of landfill site is 51.36 acres which is situated around 15 km from the city. The total accumulated legacy waste at the site is approximately 25 lakh MT.

He was also accompanied by MLAs Daljit Singh Grewal, Madan Lal Bagga, Hardeep Singh Mundian, Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu, MC Commissioner Dr Shena Aggarwal, DC Surabhi Malik, AAP District President (Urban) Sharnpal Singh Makkar, AAP District President (Rural) Harbhupinder Singh Dharaur, besides several others.

Addressing the residents, the Cabinet Minister said that the process of disposing of legacy waste accumulated at the dumpsite would be carried out through a bioremediation process in two phases. He said that work of the first phase had been awarded to Sagar Motors which will clear 1440 tons per day of waste in its plant by using Zero Landfill technology. He said that the contractor had also agreed to deploy extra machinery and complete the work well before the deadline. 

Dr Nijjar pointed out that the tenders for phase-II are already floated to dispose of the remaining 19.62 lakh tonnes of legacy waste here. He said that the project would give a major relief to the residents from the foul smell emanating from the garbage dump site. He said that Solid waste management was one of the biggest challenges for cities and the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has been making sincere efforts to make Punjab clean and green by scientifically disposing of garbage and solid waste.

INFORMATION AND PUBLIC RELATIONS MINISTER CONDOLES TRAGIC DEATH OF SENIOR JOURNALIST DEVINDER PAL’S SON

Punjab Information and Public Relations Minister Mr Aman Arora on Tuesday has expressed deep grief over the tragic and untimely death of Arsh Sharma (25), the younger son of Mr. Devinder Pal, Senior Staff Reporter of Punjabi Tribune. He died in a road accident near Phagwara in wee hours today.  Expressing his heartfelt sympathies with bereaved family, relatives and friends in this hour of grief, Mr. Aman Arora prayed to the Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and fortitude to the family to bear this irreparable loss.Meanwhile, Principal Secretary Information and Public Relations Mr. Rahul Bhandari and Director Sonali Giri also expressed deep sorrow over the tragic demise of Arsh Sharma.

CM BHAGWANT MANN’S BIG ANNOUNCEMENT ON PRAKASH PURAB OF SRI GURU NANAK DEV JI, ANAND MARRIAGE ACT TO BE IMPLEMENTED

IEP Sri Anandpur Sahib, November 8          On sacred occasion of Parkash purb of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday paid obeisance at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib and announced that Anand Marriage Act will be implemented in true letter and spirit.          The Chief Minister said that the act was notified in 2016 but had been hanging in fire since then. He said that though several other states have already implemented this act but Punjab had lagged behind. Bhagwant Mann said that this act will be now implemented in right earnest.          The Chief Minister paid obeisance at Takht Sahib and prayed to almighty for the peace, progress and prosperity in the state. He also prayed that the ethos of communal harmony, peace and brotherhood are strengthened in the state with every passing day and Punjab leads the country in every sphere. Extending his heartiest greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Prakash Purb, Bhagwant Mann said that Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji was a great spiritual ambassador who guided the humanity to attain salvation by spreading the cult of devotion to God. He said that Guru Ji’s eternal teachings of ‘Kirat Karo, Naam Japo and Vand Chako’ are still relevant in the present materialistic society.          The Chief Minister said that Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji envisioned a casteless society free from rituals, thereby redeeming the suffering humanity from the pangs of agony. He said that Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji motivated mankind with new ideas, aims, and aspirations and called upon it to dispense with the maladies of hypocrisy, falsehood, pretensions and caste-prejudices. Bhagwant Mann appealed the people to imbibe the spirit of service and humility as preached by the Great Guru and strive hard for carving out a peaceful, prosperous and healthy society by following the precious legacy of Guru Nanak Dev ji .          The Chief Minister exhorted people to celebrate this sacred occasion with utmost devotion and dedication rising above the parochial considerations of caste, colour, creed and religion. He said that through his udaasis Guru Nanak Dev ji, who is revered across the globe as Jagat Guru, preached communal harmony and brotherhood. Likewise, Bhagwant Mann said that Guru Nanak Dev ji through his teachings opposed tyranny, injustice and oppression during the invasion of Mughal emperor Babar.          Quoting verse ‘Pawan Guru, Paani Pitaah, Mata Dharat Mahat’ from Gurbani, the Chief Minister said that Guru ji have equated air (pawan) with teacher, water (paani) with father and land (dharat) with mother. Bhagwant Mann said that Guru ji had at that time taught the people to preserve environment when its pollution no where in scene. He said that Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji was also a firm advocate of women empowerment and equal status for females in the society. 

4,000 legislators to take part in National Legislators’ Conf next year

National Legislators’ Conference (NLC) is being jointly organised by the legislative bodies, non-governmental institutions and civil society with active support of the MIT School of Government, Pune in Mumbai from June 16 to 18 next year. Around 4,000 legislators representing various political parties from across the country are expected to attend it.

NIC  is also seeking support from the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and UNESCO. NLC is a democracy carnival aimed at propagating the ethos of India’s democracy in the world through leadership transformation, good governance and peace-building.

It aims at creation of a cohesive ecosystem among leaders of all ideologies for the common cause of development, instilling the spirit of nationhood, encouraging clean leadership for enhancing good governance, and creating a model to be reckoned with globally.

Meanwhile addressing a round table discussion to lay the framework for NLC on Tuesday, former Lok Sabha Speaker Shivraj Patil said that the aim of the NLC is to train the elected representatives and make them aware their duties and responsibilities.  It is a unique and first-of-its kind initiative to develop a multi-partisan forum which will go a long way to make our Democracy more vibrant, stronger and healthie, he informed.

Former Lok Sabha Speakers Sumitra Mahajan and Meira Kumar also addressed the round table which was also attended by assembly speakers of over a dozen states , former Secretary Generals of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha and several senior bureaucrats who shared their expertise towards nation-building and good governance. 

Meira Kumar said,” Indian system of parliamentary democracy is revered and honoured across the world. It is an outcome of our long struggle for Independence. People elect their MPs and MLAs and that is why the importance of our Parliament and State Assemblies is supreme. We all need to ensure that the rights and privileges that our constitution has given to our people are being safeguarded; it is our duty as elected representatives. Keeping these aspects in mind, the upcoming NLC holds a great significance as will lay the path for development and strengthening of our democratic values.” 

Purohit launches Vision document Future Ready Chandigarh 2030 & beyond.

Governor of Punjab-cum-Administrator of UT Chandigarh, Sh. Banwarilal Purohit, today launched the Vision document Future Ready Chandigarh 2030 & beyond. The document drafted and finalised in consultation with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) reflects the Chandigarh Administration’s commitment to be the country’s most sustainable city by 2030, promoting solutions that work for the people and the planet.
 
The vision document was released in the presence of Mr. Dharam Pal, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, Mr. J. M. Balamurugan, IAS, Principal Secretary to Hon’ble Governor of Punjab, Mr. Praveer Ranjan, IPS, Director General of Police, Mr. Nitin Kumar Yadav, IAS, Home Secretary, Dr. Vijay Namdeorao Zade, IAS, Finance Secretary, Mr. Debendra Dalai, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forests, Mr. Yashpal Garg, IAS, Secretary Health, Ms. Hargunjit Kaur, IAS, Special Secretary Finance and other officers of Chandigarh Administration, and Mr. Vikas Verma, Regional Head-North Region, UNDP India, at Punjab Raj Bhavan, Chandigarh.
 
Speaking at the event, Sh. Banwarilal Purohit thanked UNDP for its collaboration with Chandigarh Administration in preparing this vision document. He asked the Administration to plan all future interventions based on the Vision document.
 
On this occasion, Ms. Shoko Noda, Resident Representative, UNDP India, shared a message congratulating Chandigarh Administration and praising the leadership of Honourable Governor. Responding to the message, Sh. Banwarilal Purohit said, “We hope to have your continued association during the implementation of the vision document also. I appreciate your commitment and support.”
 
In line with future needs, the Vision document articulates that Chandigarh will be a ‘City forever Beautiful’ because it is a ‘City that Cares’ in every facet of urban living. While proposing the solutions, the document also considers the fast-changing threats the world is facing, including pandemics, climate change, environmental disasters, and its potential impact on the city’s development.
