Uttarakhand Governor Lieutenant General (retd) Gurmit Singh inaugurated a five-day photo exhibition in Dehradun on the completion of 75 years of India’s Independence organised by Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB). Over 100 panels were put up in the exhibition that displayed the struggle of freedom fighters, terror of partition and history of freedom heroes of Uttarakhand. The governor said that the exhibition is a great platform to take inspiration from the biographies of our freedom fighters and those who have contributed to India’s independence.

He said that such events provide an opportunity to pay homage to our freedom fighters and help to groom the personality of the younger generation. It is quite important to remember the great sons who fought for freedom during Amrit Mahotsav. This festival of independence is a time for us to remember our past as well as achieve big goals in the future. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also talked about the goal of making the country a developed nation. People should make it their own goal too and must make every possible effort to achieve this goal,” said Singh. The Dehradun mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’, cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi and MLAs Umesh Sharma ‘Kau’ and Khajan Das were also present in the event.
