25,000 people would benefit under Mukhyamantri Mushroom Vikas Yojana

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that a Mukhyamantri Mushroom Vikas Yojana would soon be launched in the state and more than 25,000 people would benefit from the scheme. He said this after inaugurating a food processing and packaging plant in Buggawala in Haridwar district on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that setting up of a 14 acre polyhouse in Buggawala would help in development of the area and said that the Nature Besto and MB Foods companies are providing livelihood to 150-200 families. He said that the State government has launched ‘ One District One Product (ODOP) project and that mushroom is the chosen product for Haridwar district. Dhami said that under ODOP, apricot for Almora, kiwi for Bageshwar, bay leaves and spices for Champawat, fish for Chamoli, bakery for Dehradun, peach for Nainital, malta for Pauri, chaulai for Rudraprayag, ginger for Tehri, apple for Uttarkashi, mango for Udham Singh Nagar and turmeric for Pithoragarh districts have been selected. He disclosed that loans for 48 beneficiaries have been approved under the scheme and out of them 28 units have already been set up.

He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the State government is taking measures to double the income of farmers. He said that many enterprises have come up in Uttarakhand under Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme. The CM said that a new powerful, self reliant and developed India is emerging in a real sense. He said that Uttarakhand has a vast potential for the food processing industries.

“ Items chosen under One District One Product scheme ” Dhami said that the horticulture department provided a grant of 40 per cent to the MB Foods under the Horticulture Mission for the North East Himalayas (HMNEH) for setting up a Mushroom processing plant. He reiterated the commitment of his government to make Uttarakhand one of the leading states of the country by the year 2025. Agriculture minister Ganesh Joshi, Forest minister Subodh Uniyal, former CM and Haridwar MP Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, MLAs Savita Kapoor, Munna Singh Chauhan, Pradeep Batra, Ravi Bahadur and others were also present on the occasion.

Neeraj Chopra became first Indian to win Lausanne Diamond League with a throw of 89.08 metres

Haryana Chief Minister,  Sh. Manohar Lal while congratulating Tokyo Olympics Gold medalist in Javelin throw, Neeraj Chopra on winning the Lausanne Diamond League title said that Neerja Chopra has once again the country and the State proud.

        Congratulating the Golden Boy, the Chief Minister tweeted, “We are proud that the son of Haryana, Neeraj Chopra has become the first Indian to win the Lausanne Diamond League with a throw of 89.08 metres. I am glad that the players of Haryana are enhancing the prestige of the nation on the world’s sports map.”

        Notably, Neeraj Chopra, a resident of village Khandara in Panipat won the Lausanne Diamond League in his first throw of 89.08 meters.

        Recently, Neeraj had won a silver medal in the World Athletics Championships.  He became only the second athlete after Anju Bobby George (2003) to do so.  In the final match, with a throw of 88.13 meters, Neeraj won the silver medal, and now he has become the first Indian player to win the Lausanne Diamond League title.

Punjab today became the first state in country by felicitating its Commonwealth contingent with cash prize as the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday felicitated 23 sportspersons of Punjab who represented the country in recently concluded Games at Birmingham with cash prize worth Rs. 9.30 Crore.

“This is a humble effort from our government to recognise the massive efforts out by all you to bring laurels for the country” said the Chief Minister while addressing the gathering here at Municipal Bhawan.

Interacting with the players, the Chief Minister reiterated the firm commitment of state government to restore the pristine glory of the state in field of sports. He said that strenuous efforts are already being made by the state in this regard. Bhagwant Mann said that the sportsmen of the state are being honoured with cash prizes to encourage them and other budding players to excel in sports.

The Chief Minister asserted that our sportsmen have brought laurels for the state and now the onus lies on the state government to recognise these achievements.

Highlighting the dire need of sports infrastructure to match at world level, he said that we have inherited natural talent to excel in sports and given a chance these players will conquer the world with grit. However, Bhagwant Mann said that for this world class infrastructure coupled with professional coaches, diet and other facilities are required.

The Chief Minister unequivocally said that the state government has already enhanced the sports budget to build new stadiums at village level, from where the natural talent is produced but had been hitherto ignored. Talking about the sports extravaganza ‘Khedan Wattan Punjab Diyan’ starting from August 29, he envisioned that these games will boost the sporting activity in state by channelising unbounded energy of the players in a positive direction. Bhagwant Mann said that such concerted efforts will bear fruits by providing a platform to the players to excel in arena of sports.

The Chief Minister emphasised that to propel sports culture at schools, the state government is recruiting DP and PTI teachers on war footing. Sharing anecdotes with players, Bhagwant Mann also revealed love for sports and mentioned that he inherited the love for hockey from his father.

The Chief Minister also recalled the names of hockey legends such as Balbir Singh Senior, Surjeet Singh, Dhanraj Pillay, Gagan Ajit Singh and others who had brought fame for the country in Hockey. Terming Gurjant, Manpreet, Akashdeep and others as stars of contemporary times, he expressed hope that the country will conquer the world again with the help of these legends. Recalling the names of renowned Drag Flicker of Holland Floris Jan Bovelander, Tennis Players Martina Navrtilova and Boris Becker, Bhagwant Mann said that sports rules are changing drastically in prevailing times, so we have to adapt with these rules swiftly.

The Chief Minister specifically remembered Cricket Player Harleen Deol’s stunning catch against England and also extended warm wishes towards Women Cricket Team Captain Harmanpreet Kaur. He said that it was a rare honour for him to be in the presence of illuminating sports gems. Bhagwant Mann asserted that massive efforts are afoot to revive the hockey team of Punjab Police, football teams of JCT Phagwara and Rail Coach Factory.

The Chief Minister said that 23 players from Punjab participated in Birmingham, out of which 19 players won three silver and four bronze medals. He handed over cash prize to Weightlifter Vikas Thakur, Men’s Hockey Players Manpreet Singh, Harmanpreet Singh, Akashdeep Singh, Mandeep Singh, Gurjant Singh, Hardik Singh, Varun Kumar, Krishan Pathak, Shamsher Singh, Jarmanjit Singh and Jugraj Singh, Women Cricketers Harmanpreet Kaur, Harleen Deol and Tania Bhatia, Weightlifters Harjinder Kaur, Lovepreet Singh and Gurdeep Singh and Women hockey player Gurjit Kaur. Apart from this, Judo player Jasleen Saini Judo, athlete Navjit Kaur Dhillon, cyclists Naman Kapil and Vishwajit Singh were also felicitated.

Meanwhile, the Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer informed that Sports Budget has been increased 56 percent and logistics support have been created for sports. He informed that the Chief Minister will inaugurate ‘Khedan Wattan Punjab Diyan’ by playing Volleyball at Jalandhar on August 29.

Prominent amongst others who were present on the occasion included Principal Secretary Sports Raj Kamal Chaudhary, Director Sports Rajesh Dhiman and others.

Coordination between the producer and exporter will have to be facilitated to boost export from the State. Linking residents of border areas to export will increase the acceptance of the products of such areas and also make access to the producers easier. Uttarakhand Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said this while speaking at a seminar held here on the subject of encouraging exports from Uttarakhand on Friday. He said that concrete efforts are being undertaken to encourage industries in the State.

The atmosphere in the State is conducive for industry with an ideal law and order situation providing a better environment for those wanting to invest in the industrial sector. He exhorted entrepreneurs connected to export to prepare a plan which becomes an achievement of the State in 2025. He said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given us the ‘Local goes globalmake in India for the world’ slogan. The PM has said that export is the ladder which will enable the nation to reach the developed category from that of a developing nation. Under PM Modi’s leadership, the nation is progressing swiftly and has become a major economic power and a leader of the global community.” Dhami recalled the works done by India to help other nations also during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The CM recalled that PM Modi had stated that the third decade of this century will belong to Uttarakhand. He said that the State government is working to make Uttarakhand among the best States of the nation by 2025 when the State celebrates 25 years of its creation. “We have set a target to double the State’s GDP in the next five years. Special focus will have to be laid on exports for this. Uttarakhand is moving towards becoming a favoured destination for investment in north India due to its progressive policy structure, availability of quality human resource and proximity to important markets in the nation. We are also focusing on improving the contribution of the service sector. The tourism sector has been accorded industry status,” added the CM.

AIIMS Rishikesh is blessing for people of the State and nearby areas: CM Dhami

Uttarakhand Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh is a blessing for the people of the State and nearby areas of other states. Terming AIIMS as the centre of the aspirations of the people, the CM said that people have immense faith in the institute. He was addressing a gathering after inaugurating the Paediatric Child Care Unit (PICU) at AIIMS Rishikesh on Friday. He said that 114 acres of land has been transferred by the State government to AIIMS Rishikesh for construction of a satellite centre at Kichha of Udham Singh Nagar district.

He expressed hope that the AIIMS administration would start the construction work there soon. Dhami said that Uttarakhand is a unique State in terms of tough geographical terrain and providing health facilities to the remote areas of the mountainous state is no less than a challenge. In such a situation, the AIIMS Institute can play the role of a mentor in health-related schemes, he opined. The Executive Director of AIIMS- Rishikesh Dr Meenu Singh said that AIIMS Rishikesh would provide health facilities like robotic medicine and telemedicine in the future. She added that AIIMS Rishikesh is working on a special plan to eradicate deadly diseases like tuberculosis. The head of department (HoD) of Department of paediatrics Dr Navneet Bhatt said that the PICU unit would have 16 beds. Cabinet ministers Premchand Agarwal,Subodh Uniyal, Rishikesh Mayor Anita Mamgain and others were present on the occasion.

Dhami held a meeting with the AIIMS Rishikesh authorities on Friday. In the meeting he was informed about different activities, faculty members and student strength by the AIIMS administration. The Executive director of AIIMS Rishikesh, Dr Meenu Singh said that patients are treated using modern techniques in the institute and serious patients from remote areas of the State are flown to the institute by Heli Service. She said that apart from the patients from the State, the institute services patients coming from different parts of the country. Dr Singh said that AIIMS would soon use drones to provide medicines for the patients in the remote areas. CM Dhami advised AIIMS Rishikesh work in coordination with the disaster management department so that quick medical aid is provided to the disaster affected.

Uttarakhand CM inaugurates Rishikesh- Karnprayag rail project

The breakthrough of the first tunnel from Gullar to Shivpuri, of the ambitious Rishikesh- Karnprayag rail project was inaugurated by the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami by lighting of a lamp on Friday. Speaking on the occasion he said that the rail line is one of the dream projects of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that the PM wants the rail project to be completed by the year 2024 and he takes regular updates of the project. Dhami congratulated the engineers and workers of the project for successful completion of the tunnel and said that approvals for more rail lines and road construction have been given and work on them would commence soon. He said that this year about four crore Kanwad Yatris and 30 lakh pilgrims for Char Dham Yatra arrived in the State. The Finance minister Prem Chand Agarwal said that development works in all sectors are going on in the State under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Forest minister Subodh Uniyal thanked the villagers who provided their land for the rail project.

The chief project officer of the Rishikesh- Karnprayag rail project, Ajit Singh Yadav said that the rail line would be 125 kilometres long in which 17 tunnels with a total length of 104 kilometres would be constructed. He said that the 14.5 kilometres long Jandasu- Devprayag Saur tunnel would be the longest tunnel of the project. Yadav said that modern machines have been deployed by the Railway in the construction of the rail line.

He claimed that the work on all tunnels would be completed in time. The Garhwal commissioner Sushil Kumar, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Garhwal KS Nagnyal, district magistrate of Tehri Saurabh Gaharwar, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Navneet Singh Bhullar and senior officers of railways were also present on the occasion.

CM Dhami flags off Dehradun- Almora- Pithoragarh helicopter service from the Dehradun airport

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami flagged off the Dehradun- Almora- Pithoragarh helicopter service from the Dehradun airport on Friday. The service would operate from Dehradun to Haldwani, Pantnagar, Almora and Pithoragarh.

The seven seater Pawan Hans service would initially fly once a week. Expressing his gratitude towards Union Civil Aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia for starting the helicopter service, the CM said that all such services operating in the State under the UDAN project would help in improving air connectivity in the State. He said that the helicopter services would make transportation easy.

Dhami said that Uttarakhand is an important state from tourism and religious point of view. He said that the State government is committed to providing every facility to the pilgrims and the tourists visiting Uttarakhand. Dhami asked Pawan Hans to increase the number of seats in the Heli service and also said that the service should operate for three days in a week.

Cabinet ministers Prem Chand Agarwal, Subodh Uniyal, secretary Dilip Jawalkar, chief executive officer (CEO) of Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) C Ravishankar and general manager of Pawan Hans Limited Sanjay Kumar were also present on the occasion.

Uttarakhand CM Dhami meets Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia

IEP CHANDIGARH DEHRADUN AUGUST 24, 2022

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today met the Union Civil Aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and discussed various issues in detail related to air connectivity in Uttarakhand. Dhami said that fixed wing aircraft connectivity is needed in Pithoragarh. At present, selection of airlines for three routes- Pithoragarh-Pantnagar, Pithoragarh-Hindon and Pithoragarh-Dehradun is in progress under the regional connectivity scheme. Responding to the CM’s request, the Union minister directed the officials of his ministry that work orders to airlines should be issued at the ministry level by September 30 this year so that further action can be taken to establish air connectivity to Pithoragarh. Dhami further said that the State government had submitted a proposal that considering the strategic importance of Naini-Saini airport it should be handed over to the Airport Authority of India so that it can be upgraded from 2B to 3C and be brought under independent management.

In this matter, it was decided that the AAI and Uttarakhand government will prepare the service conditions for the memorandum of understanding without delay so that a decision can be taken soon in this regard.

The CM also requested the Union minister to direct Pawan Hans to operate helicopter service under the regional connectivity scheme in Pithoragarh and to connect Almora with helicopter service. Responding to this, Scindia directed the officials of the ministry to undertake necessary action at the ministry level to facilitate daily service of Pawan Hans from August 26. The CM also recalled that a greenfield airport is proposed in Pantnagar to improve the air connectivity in the Kumaon region. He requested that the OLS survey of the new alignment proposed by the State government for expansion of the Pantnagar airport be facilitated. Scindia informed that directions have been issued to the ministry to conduct the OLS survey by November 30 this year.

He also directed officials to prepare the detailed project reports for two small airports of Gauchar and Chinyalisaud. Dhami expressed hope that along with Dehradun, even Pantnagar airport will be developed to international level.

Chief Minister directs officers concerned to keep a close vigil on illegal extraction of mining material due to depletion of the ground water table

IEP CHANDIGARH AUGUST 22, 2022

While taking serious note of the issue regarding depletion of water levels within and nearby areas of mining sites in the State, Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal today directed the officers concerned to install Piezometers at the mining sites to determine the status of the groundwater table.

The Chief Minister said that as mining can deplete surface and groundwater supplies and because of the depleting water table within and nearby areas of mining sites, the possibility of illegal extraction of mining material increases. Hence to keep a check on this, Piezometers should be installed at the mining sites.

The Chief Minister gave these directions while presiding over the State Level DISHA Committee Meeting held here today with the Administrative Secretaries, Deputy Commissioner, Chief Executive Officers, Zila Parishad and District Municipal Commissioners.  The meeting was co-chaired by Development and Panchayats Minister, Sh. Devendra Babli. During the meeting, various schemes of the Centre and Central and State governments were reviewed in detail.

Member Parliaments, Sh. Sanjay Bhatia, Sh. Dharambir Singh, Sh. Arvind Sharma and Rajya Sabha MP, Lt Gen. (retd) D.P. Vats, MLA, Smt. Nirmal Rani also remained present during the meeting. MP, Sh. Brijendra Singh joined through video conferencing.

Concerned miners to ensure maintenance of roads within the radius of their mining sites

Ensuring maintenance of roads within the radius of mining sites, the Chief Minister directed the Deputy Commissioners to ensure that the maintenance of all the roads within the radius of 5 kilometers of any mining site is done by the concerned miners.

The Deputy Commissioners should prepare a proposal regarding the same as per the District Mineral Foundation Rules, 2017, added Sh. Manohar Lal.

Age-wise tracking of children to get real-time data on the school dropouts

The Chief Minister said that the present State Government has made concentrated efforts to keep a check on the school dropouts so as to ensure that no student should be deprived of education due to any reason.  Now taking this commitment further the State Education Department will be implementing a new system of age-wise tracking of every student in the age group of 5 to 18 years, said the Chief Minister.

Under this system, the children in the above said age group who are registered in the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) data would be tracked by the Education Department so that real-time information about all such children can be collected and the actual status of the school dropout rate can be determined.

Link Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme with Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Yojana

The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme should be linked with Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Yojana so that eligible families have more self-employment opportunities.

Houses in the one-kilometer radius from Lal Dora to get power connection

The Chief Minister said that Power Department should explore possibilities of giving power connections to all the houses in the one-kilometer radius from Lal Dora.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister was apprised that there is 100 percent electrification in the State. who-so-ever has come for electricity connections, the department has provided the same as per the requirement of the applicant.

Hold regular meetings of district Disha Committees

          The Chief Minister directed the Deputy Commissioner to hold regular meetings of district level Disha Committees so that every important issues raised during these meetings would be tabled in the State level Disha committee so that any kind of problem being faced in the districts can be discussed immediately.

Provide connections to the eligible families under the Ujjwala scheme

While giving directions regarding cooking gas connections provided under the Ujjwala scheme, Sh. Manohar Lal said that every District Commissioner should ensure that no household is left of these connections.

He said that if any house in the state is still left with a domestic gas connection, then an immediate gas connection should be given to such eligible family.

The Chief Minister further directed the officers concerned to expedite the ongoing survey work under the Housing for Economically Weaker Sections policy to identify the potential beneficiaries in Rural as well as Urban areas in the State.

A teacher should be made the nodal officer to ensure safe travel of girl students

During the meeting, the Member Parliament raised the demand of making a system to ensure safe transport facilities for the girl students. Accepting the same, the Chief Minister directed the officers concerned that a teacher should be made the nodal officer in the schools to supervise all the routes so that the girl students do not face any kind of problem.

While discussing the agenda regarding  Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban,  the Chief Minister directed that the beneficiaries whose first installment has been received, their second and third installments should also be released soon, so that there is no delay in construction of houses.

Open more Antyodaya Aahar and Atal Kisan Canteens

The Chief Minister directed that more Antyodaya Aahar and Atal Kisan Canteens should be opened apart from the already operational canteens. The Chief Minister said that with the opening of such canteens the workers and others visiting the Mandis will be able to eat good food at reasonable prices.

Haryana CM announces grant of Rs. 81.5 crore to Maharaja Agrasen Medical College, Agroha

Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal has announced an amount of Rs. 81.5 crore for providing better medical facilities to the citizens at Maharaja Agrasen Medical College, Agroha. In this project, Rs. 25 crore will be spent for construction of various facilities in medical college, Rs. 17 crore for hostel construction, Rs. 23 crore for purchase of various equipment and Rs. 16.5 crore for other resources.

         The Chief Minister said this while addressing at the second Convocation held at the OP Jindal Auditorium at Maharaja Agrasen Medical College, Agroha on Saturday as the Chief Guest. Earlier, he also inaugurated the newly constructed Block-D of the hospital in the Medical College campus.

            In his address, Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the state government is committed to provide better health facilities to the citizens of the state. In order to provide the benefit of Ayushman Bharat scheme to more and more poor families by the government, the annual income slab of BPL families has been increased to Rs. 1.80 lakh. After this the number of BPL families will increase from 10 lakhs to about 22 lakhs. All these families will be provided free medical facilities up to Rs. 5 lakh under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.

The strength of doctors will be increased from 13,000 to 28,000

         The Chief Minister said that to ensure the availability of adequate doctors in the state, the process of opening medical colleges in every district of Haryana is going at a fast pace. At present there are 13 medical colleges in the state and 8 medical colleges are under process. At present there are about 13,000 doctors in the state, the target of the government is to increase their number to 28,000. For this, 2,650 doctors will be prepared to be engaged in the services every year.

Doctors to realize the spirit of service to mankind

        The Chief Minister called upon the new doctors to realize the spirit of service to mankind and appealed them to make the medical sector a service mission rather than a business. He said that along with better treatment of diseases, the emphasis should be made that people realize the value of healthy life and start adopting healthy practices. For this a better harmony of allopathy and Ayurveda can be made. We have to go towards taking food as medicine.

         Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal while praising the management of the medical college said that the college provided excellent medical services not only to the nearby districts but also to the ailing persons of Punjab and Rajasthan during the COVID-19 pandemic. He added that the Agroha Medical College has also been given a Good Governance Award by the government for this special initiative.

29 medals and 255 degrees were awarded at the convocation

         During the Convocation, 29 medals and 255 Degrees were awarded by the Chief Ministers to the pass out students. Dr. Sapna Kundu was awarded the OP Jindal Gold Medal. Similarly, Dr. Bhavna Arora was awarded Ghanshyam Das Goyal Silver Medal and Dr. Aastha Dhamija with Banarasi Das Gupta Bronze Medal. An amount of Rs. 1 lakh, Rs. 50 thousand and Rs. 25 thousand was given to the doctors who received gold medal, silver medal and bronze medal respectively.

         On this occasion, Urban Local Bodies Minister, Sh. Kamal Gupta, Minister of State Labour and Employment, Sh. Anoop Dhanak, Member of Rajya Sabha, Sh. D P Vats, Former Minister, Smt. Savitri Jindal and other dignitaries were present.
